After the 1972 season the Tribe completed a 2 for 4 trade with the Yankees. Indians got CHARLIE SPIKES, John Ellis, Rusty Torres, and Jerry Kenney. Yanks got Jerry Moses, and WHO?

Our old pal David Justice hit the home run that turned out to be the game winner.

It was low in order. Thome or Pena is my guess. Unless it was a PH, which would’ve been...Sorrento??

1995 is about the very Fringe of my memories. I was 9 at the time. 1997 I remember like the back of my hand, unfortunately.

Prior to the 1995 Division Series against the BoSox, the Indians had not won a post season game since the '48 World Series.

Cleveland beat Boston 5-4 in Game 1 of the '95 series.....WHO was the winning pitcher?

I believe this was the game that Tony Pena won with a homer.  So the answer is a reliever, most likely. I’m going with Assenmacher as my first guess. 

Pena did hit that game winner! Good job there.

A different reliever was the winning pitcher.
