Charlie Spikes

Off by a year, but he was involved in another trade that I'll post here in a few. Have to do quick research to verify.

After the 1972 season the Tribe completed a 2 for 4 trade with the Yankees. Indians got CHARLIE SPIKES, John Ellis, Rusty Torres, and Jerry Kenney. Yanks got Jerry Moses, and WHO?

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED JINX

A 1987 SI magazine issue predicted that the Tribe would win the AL East.

What two Indians were pictured on the cover of that issue?

*Tribe ended 1987 with 101 losses and worst record in baseball.

cat_lover edged me out on Cory Snyder and Joe Carter.  I remember that cover well.

Fun fact: I witnessed Cory Snyder’s first Major League hit........ a triple off the right center fence.

What pro wrestlers were involved in a legit fan riot at the old Cleveland Arena back in '74?

Still unanswered.

Wasn't one of the wrestler's Ox Baker? Was the other one Walter Johnson? I know he wrestled in the off-season

Two questions for today:

- In 2000, what Cleveland native and former airborne ranger made his WWF debut as a member of “The Radicalz”?

In 2006, what Bay Village native and Ohio University alum signed a free agent contract to punt for the Browns?

The punter is Ohio University's own Dave Zastudil!!
