In hindsight, yes it was a bad trade, because most of the picks (outside of Ward) were shitty picks.  If they actually made good picks it would have been a good (not great) trade. Not great, because Wentz turned out to be pretty damn good, but "good" because we currently would have more talent surrounding our current (hopefully) franchise QB.

This. Just like the earlier comment about Ray Farmer screwing this franchise. If he hits on those four 1st rounders, like he should've, this team's in a lot better shape.

It makes plenty of sense.  Put yourself in the position at that time.  Were you a huge fan of Wentz and could see him being a franchise QB?  If we look back at the Browns thread, I am willing to bet there were not many posters behind him.  In fact, I recall everyone being down on that QB class.

I was a big fan of Wentz. I wanted them to take him at 2. Was pissed they traded back.

Rapaport is saying HC finalists are Kitchens and Stefanski. It could be that the 2nd interview for HC is actually to see his interest in OC.

My understanding is that Stefanski is no longer under contract so they can target him as the OC. Bowles name just came out of nowhere. I was under the impression that Tampa was a done deal once Arians accepted. That may still be the case but I'm hearing a lot of rumblings of Bowles being the DC target.

Yea, I read Stefanski's contract ended last night.

Fwiw, Albright thinks Bowles is headed to Tampa.

I think most people do and it still may likely happen. About an hour ago was the first time I'd heard Bowles name connected with the Browns.

1. That coaching scenario would be a damn dream.

2. I was pretty high on Wentz. Only QB I wanted that draft. Hell, one of the few I’ve wanted over a trade back the last decade. I thought it was a fair trade though. Browns got really good value, just didn’t capitalize.

Wonder what Jack Del Rio is up to, and if he has an interest in a DC role.

Do we not have an interest in retain Williams as DC?

I have close to no interest. We were a 30th ranked def with studs at important positions, little injuries, and top 5in takeaways. On top of that he played Jabril Peppers from Put in bay, and had CBs playing 15 yds off man last season. Then you factor in his lack of d line rotation and you realize the truth. He's a bum.

Hope not. Bowles reported going w Arians to TB. He already had his staff ready to go.

my guess, based on things I've heard and just some common sense: Browns announce Kitchens as HC/Stefanksi as OC sometime tonight/early tomorrow. Presser on Thursday. profit.

That would be nice. But doubt that person knows anything Dorsey is doing.

Tend to agree with this. His only saving grace this year was that they were actually good at takeaways. Other than Myles, no pass rush. Got raped by the Ravens, on the ground, in that last game. Won't be sad if he leaves.

Same. He’s not terrible, but we could do better. I appreciate all he did for this team this year. Sure it wasn’t easy taking over in that clusterfuck of a situation. But he showed professionalism and made his players believe they could win games. And we desperately needed that.

He may be a better HC somewhere else than DC. He is a bad defensive coordinator. Awful schemes, awful tackling, awful a lot of things. But he was good as a motivator and head coach.

Latest rumor is brad Childress could be on the staff in some capacity. Not sure if HC or OC or what. He recently stepped down from a start up developmental team in Atlanta.
