Wait a second didn’t I get blasted on here about a month ago when I said Barkley’s vision is average at best and that he’s not very good in between the tackles... hmm
He is not even close to be a generational type player smh. In fact I’ll even say he won’t be the best rb in this draft
posted by like_thatAs stated all of those teams had established rosters, but with that being said the NFC has been won by teams who didn't need to draft a RB in the first round.
So what about JAX? I wouldn't say they had an established roster, they went 5 straight years with no more than 5 wins and drafted Fournette top 5. Then what happened?
And please don't pretend Bortles is an Established QB moreso than Taylor

When you have the best defense in the NFL is helps smh

100% agree. Barkley's best use IMO is a player like Reggie Bush. 8-12 carries, 6 passes, and return kicks. I think he's an amazing athlete that if used correctly could be a stud. However using him like a bellcow back (Bell, Zeke, etc...) isn't using him correctly.

What about him? He wasn’t even the 2nd best let alone the best rookie RB in the league last year and that team was carried by their defense. Give me a more valuable position in the top 5 and then either one of those better rookie RBs in the later rounds, thanks.

If you did, I doubt it was by me. I like Barkley but he's not a "must have" on my wish list.
Have said all along you can get better value with guys like Guice, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel (although he may have a health issue), Ronald Jones, etc. later and use your top picks on things you NEED....like a DE to pair with your other defensive end that's going to make Fat Boy, Flacco and the Ginger Peashooter shit their pants every time they drop back to pass.

I really really like Penny.

I like him, but I don't like his hands or his pass protection.

They went 3-11 in 2016 with the best defense? GTFO with that claim. What changed from 2016 to 2017 on D?
If they take Chubb they will lose him or Garrett in 4-5 years once rookie contracts are up. No one is investing that much salary into one position on D. No different than Barkley only being worth 5 years max as a RB.

The difference is they signed another top corner and drafted smart and developed those young defensive studs. To sit there and say fournette was the reason they went from 3-11 to 10-6 is ridiculous especially when they went 7-6 when fournette played and 3-0 when he didn’t

Didn't hurt that the Jags had the perfect storm last year. Granted, Tennessee got in the playoffs but the rest of the division sucked due to injuries. If Watson and Houston's defense stays healthy, JAX may not be a playoff team. Didn't hurt that Andrew Luck didn't play either.
I don’t keep up with this thread but just stopping in to say no way they take Baker Mayfield #1 and this is ESPN’s big thing right now.

Don't agree with this at all. Also, you're assuming that both turn out to be Mack/Miller. Look at the Texans with Watt, Clowney, Mercilus. Or the Chargers with Bosa, Ingram. You need solid rushers. If anything it lets Ogbah hit the open market.

If they do, God help us...God help us all

Was this a serious post?
#1 they were a top 10 D in 2016 in yardage and points allowed despite Bortles being hot garbage and fucking them over repeatedly
#2 2017 was their 2nd year with Todd Wash as D coordinator so more familiar with the system
#3 they signed Bouye (pro bowl), Campbell (pro bowl), and Church
#4 Ramsey (pro bowl), Ngakoue (pro bowl), Jack, and Fowler no longer rookies and all had 2nd year jumps
I guess you could argue Minnesota, but the Jags were at worst the #2 D in the league last year
Listening to Rosen about always being the second guy makes me want him even more.
