Haha welp, I was wrong. Fuck me.
Pretty sucky to send good talent on the D Line away to the fucking patriots of all teams for an underwhelming conditional pick in return.
That 2015 first round, donezo.

posted by BR1986FBWith the addition of Landry, I could also see Duke Johnson moved. Duke was more of a slot receiver/RB than a pure RB and Landry will likely get most of these targets.
Duke Johnson will play the Cleveland Browns role of the much like Patriot's Edelman
Shelton wasn’t a fit. So I figured it was coming. Dorsey likes his pass rushing DT’s. I don’t like the compensation for him but that’s most likely the best they could get for him

Agree...
.more speed, quickness than Sheldon could provided
Browns just completely undervalued Shelton. I could have possibly been convinced on that trade if they just sent Shelton, but why include a 5th round pick?
Shelton will do well for the pats imo. He is only 24. They gave up on him way too early considering he has shown some flashes. Just another draft class we can mark as a complete failure 👍. The browns must have a record of first rounds picks that were no longer with the team before their first contract.

This.
Dont give me that “Shelton didn’t fit in our defense” bullshit lol. He was a good young player that we just gave up for practically nothing. He’ll be a pro bowler in NE in two years, book it.
After reading some of the stuff on twitter I guess it makes more sense. Browns weren’t going to re-sign so you get a pick while you can. He also only played 44% of snaps last year

He was hurt a few games in there, leading to low snap %.

This. I look for Dorsey to go hard after one of his guys, Dontari Poe, in FA to replace Shelton.

Sounds like they are just swapping two mid round picks but no details yet.

I saw we gave up this years 4th to get a 3rd next year
Shelton was in horrible shape last year, which is a big part of why he sucked, and probably contributed to his injuries. If New England can get him to lose some weight and improve his conditioning, he has a chance to be good.
One area the Browns should improve in massively this year is in the red zone. Taylor protects the ball very well versus Deshone "How's he going to screw this up" Kizer. This in itself should equate to 3-4 wins.
I love the fact that Hue & Zampese lobbied for McCarron while Haley & Dorsey liked Taylor. For some reason I think Hue believes he's running this organization.

Just saw a stat where the Browns have no 1st round players (that they drafted) on the roster from the 2009 through 2015 drafts. Jesus...
Also saw that part of the reasoning for these trades was that there could've been concern about the Browns being snubbed in FA, after 0-16, so they traded for their guys instead.
I'm remaining skeptical, but I like the trades and the direction we are going in.
posted by Belly35#1 Josh Allen and 4 Barkley
Depending on Joe Thomas the next picks will be offense line, line back and defense players. wide receiver will be filled in with free agent
It'd be nice, but Barkley won't be there at 4

Okay flip it
Barkley at one Allen four
Assuming Dorsey doesn't swing any more deals, a list of the guys I'd like to see them target in FA include:
Trumaine Johnson (CB-Rams)
Dontari Poe (DT-Falcons) or Star Lotulelei (DT-Panthers) or, if he gets released, Suh (DT-Dolphins). Prefer one of the first two to replace Shelton.
Adrian Clayborn (DE-Falcons)- rotate with Ogbah
Terrelle Pryor (WR-Redskins)-fight it out with Coleman for the #3. Only if he comes VERY cheap.
Any three of these guys and I'd be happy.

Okay by me
Why does anyone want Josh Allen when you just essentially traded him to the Packers?
