This was the story of the whole team, besides Lindor, this post season....and even he wasn't stellar. They all gagged but also have to give credit to Houston's pitching staff. They aren't too shabby. Probably got eliminated by this year's WS champ.

No way can you say they’re better than Boston. Reality is the Indians have became what the Tigers were; great lineup, decent starting pitching, yet the bullpen sucks. They beat up all year on a terrible division but were not ready at all for the big dogs of the American League and it showed as Houston easily won three games.

A few years ago when you guys won the pennant that bullpen was awesome and the lineup was so versatile. You simply cannot have real weaknesses anymore and compete for a title, the current model many franchises have adopted means that every playoff contender just absorbs any top talent from the team out of it by the Trade Deadline. It’s just absurd how loaded the other three AL teams are, they all won 100 games and did it in divisions where two other teams won at least 90 games. Cleveland and the rest of the division are far off the other two at the moment and this postseason showed it

You can easily say they are better than Boston. Boston doesn’t have a bullpen. I’d favor the Yankees over them.

Haha as the Yankees trail 7-0 currently in the 4th. Come on the Boston offense is a damn machine

Interesting that Chief Wahoo made his last appearance on Columbus Day.  Worst Columbus day for the Indians since 1492.

And I'd say similar about Boston's starting rotation. They may have good "in season" numbers (cough-Kluber-cough) but they don't usually show up in the postseason. For all of Boston's gaudy hitting numbers, I think Houston's rotation contains them.

I'm kinda glad I missed the whole game. I followed on my phone and then once I saw the bullpen blowing it, I decided that was it. Figures the bullpen issues that plagued the team all year was the downfall in this series.

Also, man the offense sucked down the stretch. Other than Lindor, it was pretty pathetic.

Yeah. Houston is still the most complete team in baseball. They are also not afraid to go into Fenway I'm sure.

And just like that, the season is over.

Now the talk begins on who's staying and who's leaving.  vball has brought up Miller and BR has mentioned Allen and Brantley.

Only person to possibly stay is Brantley, wonder what they do with Chiz.

Gone? Miller, Allen, Donaldson, Melky, Davis, Tomlin, Perez (pitcher)

They were discussing Brantley this morning on the radio and the market rate for him is about $19m/yr.

I do not want Brantley or Chiz back. Go young and athletic please. Allen and Yandy need to play everyday. I wish we could get rid of Yonder. My God he provides little to nothing.

I think you have to play Yandy at 3rd next year (unless a spot at 1st opens up). Not sure Allen and Zimmer are going to be carrying a team though. Brantley batted .309 this year, what more do you want out a lf if he can stay healthy? Bullpen is gonna need an influx as well.

If Yandy is at 3rd, that means JRam at 2nd, which most unfortunately means.....Kip in CF, and if they don't resign Brantley, so if an outfield Allen, Kip, Zimmer....not what a team should want with about 2 years left on this window of a playoff caliber team.  Yikes.  Is there any trade market for Kip?

*Will Zimmer be recovered and healthy by next year?

The QO is $17.9, Can Brantley be given the QO two years in a row?

Yikes.  Is there any trade market for Kip?

He may have upped his trade value with his HR numbers this year but it sounds like they couldn't give him away last offseason.

Big question is "will Tito be back?" I don't think they'd fire him as much as he could possibly walk away for health reasons. I know he's doing better now but he may consider the long term.

The ALDS was a small sampling of the entire season. The hitting struggled against quality pitching and the bullpen was a mess. It will be interesting to see what changes are made especially with the bullpen.
