Have not.

It’s still a nice layout obviously. Just not as green as it used to be. Worth a play. I also suggest Seven Hills in Hartville. Not too far from there.

Played Seven Hills years ago. Nice course. I’ve played a lot of the courses in the area.

In green alone both Raintree and Chenoweth are nice. Mayfair isn’t bad but it’s also not as nice as it used to be either.

Yeah there were 2 dog legs at this course, put both those middle of the fairway with a 3-iron

Then my driver was going straight like it’s never done before. Think there was only 1 hole that I was in the trees. The other 2 fairways I missed were in the rough but not in bad spots.

Golf is fun when playing well.

Kudos for being able to hit a 3 iron and often a smart decision.

I USED to be able to hit a 1 iron....I guess I still can but it’s when I’m 40 yards from the green with a tree in my way and a nice hard pan surface most of the way to the green lol

Never used a 2-iron before. Assuming it’s a good club to have off the tee when your driver just isn’t working for you? If so, that’s exactly what I need, because about half the time my driver is just terrible and it ruins my round

I had a regular 2 iron and struggled with it. I then got a TaylorMade GAPR Lo 2 iron and crushed it. It was still a butter knife, but had a fatter bottom, so it was easier to hit. I only got rid of it because I didn’t really need it/didn’t use it that much.

How far you typically hit the 3 iron? 220? 230? 2 iron will give you another 10-15 yards maybe if you hit it as well as you 3.

Not that far, probably 210-215...im guessing I can Get a 2-iron off 220-225

Wildcat-I’ll look into that club. I’m not great at golf so I probably won’t spend too much on this club, but if I can get a decent deal I wouldn’t mind grabbing it. I would probably make good use of it with how poor I drive

There are 3 different GAPR’s. Lo, Mid, Hi. Lo has more of an iron shape and feel. Mid still has those characteristics but is more of a hybrid. And the Hi is basically your standard hybrid. All 3 have multiple lofts to choose from, as well. Probably can get a used one in good shape for around $100 or a little more.

I've been experimenting with a Maltby 2 hybrid "driving iron" off and on for a while now. It finally started clicking for me today, on the 5 holes I hit it off the tee I hit 4 fairways, and put it out there 230+. The fairway I missed wasn't a bad miss, just pushed it a bit right.

That looks similar to the GAPR Lo. Probably very similar specs too.

Similar, for sure. I'm pretty sure the GAPR has some sort of proprietary foam injected in it.

When I hit this club well it sounds and feels great, and goes a long way. I think I paid $40 for it.

I got my 1 iron at Kmart in 1989. A Dunlop for $12....cool story grandpa

I now carry my grandfathers 2 1/2 wood....it’s an early 80’s club. Sweet spot is small on those older clubs but fun to pull out of the bag and play.

My first set were Dunlops from Walmart bc my old man wouldn’t let me use his Pings and they were all I could afford on my paper route money lol

Have you played Tannenhauf or Skyland Pines recently?
