Small towns in Ohio with something to offer

It's easy to find stuff to do in the bigger cities. What are some things to do in smaller towns around the state?

If you like taking walks in nature and you're close to central Ohio or don't mind a little drive, the Black Hand Gorge in Toboso is pretty awesome. It's a 4-mile paved path (so you can ride bikes as well) with several dirt hiking paths that branch off of it. It runs along the Licking River so you get a lot of great water views with the ability to get down to the river in a few spots.

Lake Catherine in Jackson is pretty good walking trails.

Not much here

Logan has Hocking Hills. Athens has some stuff to offer. Chillicothe has the Adena Mounds. Portsmouth has some stuff. Marietta is cool. Ripley is a hole but the Rankin House and John Parker historical sites are super interesting (Underground tunnel related)

Barkcamp state park in Belmont county has some nice walking trails, one even has literary markers that tells a story as you walk through it. I like them because the terrain is varying and it's a decent exercise. This park also has a couple of nice riding trails if you like to take your horses on new adventures.

Also, the lake is a pretty decent place to go bass fishing that has many areas where you have to change your approach and figure out what kind of bait you need to use.
It also has camping sites, including a few small/rustic cabins.

St. Clairsville has an Underground Railroad museum that gives a fairly decent walk-through, for its size. I found it very interesting (I'm a history nerd) just how involved in the UR that Ohio, more specifically Belmont county, actually was!

If you're into the paranormal, perhaps even do some sort of ghost hunting yourself, the Bellaire House has officially made the national circuit of such things.

That just means they're one player in a very large market of Ohio small towns.

Most Ohio small towns have at least one house that has been demolished because it was a meth den.
