Anyone else use eBates? If not, you really should as it's essentially free money back on stuff you're already buying. I was skeptical at first, but ended up signing up to give it a shot. We've received over $250 in cashback since last May.

Anyway, use this link and you can get a free $10 back to start, I think you just need to spend $25 or more.

I believe there is a way to get cashback for in-store purchases using your receipt and order number, but I am not 100% sure because I haven't tried it.

Ugh.  My company works with them.  They're insufferably difficult to work with.

I use Honey.

That's unfortunate for you, but they are extremely easy to get money back with as a consumer.

I've had Honey in the past, but it seemed to slow down my browser so I got rid of it. It just applies coupon codes for you, right? Or does it have a cashback program as well?

I've had an account since feb of 2017. However I think my ad blockers fuck with it, as I have never gotten any cash back and it's showing I have never made a purchase enabling cash back. I've definitely bought things from sites participating as well. Might need to make purchases in Safari or something going forward to avoid issues with the Ad Blocker.

If you use chrome, get the chrome extension. I run an ad-blocker and have never had issues.

Justin, can you give a novice a cliff notes version of a situation where you'd use this service and get cash back?

Sure. I'll give a brief rundown of the entire process of using the service.

First, get the eBates browser extension. It will alert you of any site you visit that gives cash back and give you the option to activate the cash back bonus from the alert. You must click the button to activate cash back, it sets the cookie or url parameters that actually links your browsing session to your eBates account. You can also browse to stores directly from the eBates website, but the browser extension is significantly easier.

When you click it, the browser extension icon will be highlighted (green border) so you know it's active.

Now you shop like normal on the site. If you make a purchase it will be linked to your eBates account and you'll eventually get an alert that you received a bonus. They send payment out every quarter. We get ours as a check, but I believe there are several options like direct deposit, maybe paypal.

Different sites offer different percentages back. Around most major holidays they are always offering double cash back at many sites, so you can usually get some decent deals that way. I just bought a pair of shoes from New Balance. They were on sale for $80, eBates was giving 10% cash back, and a $10 cash bonus on any order over $100. I needed socks anyway, so I added 6 pair to my order to get to just over $100 and ended up with almost $20 in eBates cash back on the order on something I needed anyway and would've gladly bought on just the sale price alone.

I added the plugin to Safari and signed up.  No beat Ebate for this site yet...

How often do you get cash back from amazon?

Every once in a while. They only give cash back on certain categories.

Agree that Honey is like attaching a boat anchor to your browser. It makes it run so damn slow, I ran into it with Firefox and Chrome

Oh, I'm certain they're good at what they do.  You don't get to be a dick in business interactions without being good enough for people to put up with it.

I haven't had a problem with it slowing anything down.  In fairness, I use Opera, so I don't know if that would make a difference.

As for a cashback program, they do, but only as of 2016.  It's called Honey Gold.

I work with them, too.  They're not assholes, and their plugin doesn't seem to negatively affect my browsing, which is why I opt for them.
