I like the looks of this place. I don't know if I'll ever drive through Akron, but if I do...

By all means, I'll get you a stick or three.

Starting off the evening with a Crowned Heads Jericho Hill. Took a picture, but I'm too stupid to figure out how to post it.

Picked up another Punch, can't remember exactly what it was, as well as an Undercrown Maduro robusto. Will likely have one on the golf course tomorrow and the other on the front porch tomorrow night.

The Undercrown is solid. That's one you should sit outside and enjoy. It's the same tobaccos that are in the Liga Privada #9 just in different locations. (Filler, binder, wrapper) This makes them less expensive than the #9, but still a great smoke. I heard the cigar rollers we smoking too many #9's so they developed this blend to stop them from smoking the more expensive ones.

Finished off the night with a Padilla Reserva which I've had since 2012, then an Alec Bradley Magic Toast. I did win 10 cigars at the event. One of the guys from my table won a $200.00 credit for the Cigar Humidor at Jungle Jim's. It was his first night there...the bastard...lol.

How do these cigar nights work? How many people usually show up each week?

Love love love those Padillas.
I recall a few years ago that they were getting sued by another brand.  You happen to remember that or know what happened with it?

So I picked up a pack of CAO flavored sticks, just to try.  Fortunately I read NOT to put those in you humidor just before I started filling it up!

My Undercrown was a poor smoke. Way too tight for a decent draw. Ended up obliterating the wrapper trying to get a workable draw.

Ouch.  That's a shame.  I do hate when I get a smoke that's too hard a draw.  Feels like you're trying to suck an orange through a straw.

Had a few great cigars this weekend. The first was an Arturo Fuente Chateau. Smoked it while doing some woodworking projects in the garage. Fantastic cigar, perfect companion to working outside or in the garage.

The other was a Padron 3000 Maduro I enjoyed on the golf course yesterday.

I just put in an order at Thompson Cigar and picked up 5 of the A. Fuente cigars. I was thinking of getting the Padron, but the box of 10 was out of stock and couldn't justify the box of 20 price. I did pick up a couple other samplers, as well. In total it will give me 27 cigars for the humidor.

I assume they will impart their flavor on your other cigars? What kind did you buy?

Fuente is, in my opinion, the most consistent "Mount Rushmore" cigar brand there is.  If you get one, you can know the experience you're getting.  Some of the people I know who smoke only Fuente cigars get a little snobby about them, but you can't deny they have the reputation they do for a reason.

Can confirm.  I got a Java as a gift once, and I threw it in my humidor with my other cigars.

The next time I opened it, the smell of mocha was coming from the box.

CAO flavor sampler.  The vanilla ones tasted nice, and actually a decent mild smoke.  Probably not something I'd buy again, but a good choice for people who don't normally smoke cigars.

Damn. I'm on my way over.

What all did you get? Was that a 5-pack deal on a cigar site?

CI had a big 3-day sale this past weekend.  The whole bundle was just under $3/stick, which is obscene, so I had to pull the trigger.

In the pack were Camacho Corojos, La Perla Habana Black Pearls, Cohiba Red Dots, Ave Maria Immaculata, Rocky Patel Vintage 1990s, Macanudo Cafe Hyde Parks, Aging Room Quattro F55s, and Man 'o War Virtues.

I actually don't know a lot about the Aging Room brand or the Ave Maria brand.  I've seen Ave Maria show up in other bundles, but I've never gotten it.

I've had everything else, though.  It's all good stuff.

The Virtue is probably my favorite "brunch" cigar.  Also good when you want a second one in the evening, but you don't want to be breathing fire the next day.

For what it's worth, if you're interested in quick-stocking the humidor, CI has a standing "build your own bundle" deal.

HINT: As of right now, they have a coupon code for 20% off, too, so you'd be looking at 35 sticks for about $90ish.

Hmmm...tempting, but I've already got 27 on the way. I'll need to wait to see how full my humidor is with that amount before adding too many more.

I did find a new site called Cigar Fox that has free shipping on all orders. Prices look decent. I think I'm going to add a few more A Fuente Chateau's from there this afternoon.

Nice!

Yeah, while Thompson and CI are staples, there really are a few smaller places that often have some good deals.  I've never heard of Cigar Fox, but I'll check them out.

Another one I ran across a few months ago that I forgot to mention on here was Cigar Bid: https://www.cigarbid.com/

Anyone had any Perdomo Fresco cigars? Chatting with the guy working the humidor at The Party Source last night, I was talking about cigars that I've found I like. One being an A. Fuente Chateau I smoked while working in the garage. He passed along advice his father gave him, smoke good cigars while you're doing absolutely nothing else, and smoke okay cigars while you're working. He sold me on the Perdomo Fresco because they were only $3.50 a pop when buying a single cigar. Looking up reviews when I got home, they seem to be well regarded for the price. They also have a pack of 25 for less than $75, so if I end up liking them I can stock up for fairly cheap.
