They talked about that briefly during the SB.

I found out I have a dozen or so of him last week.

I took all my principal’s cards from his attic....vast majority junk or stuff everyone has. Set up 9 different lots on FB Marketplace and sold every damn thing in less than 2 days after posted. Made him $400. People are crazy.

$400 isn't bad for a lot of junk.

I'm in the market for my first graded card at the moment. I've lost a couple ebay auctions since yesterday, one for a 1975 Topps Morgan PSA 6 and one for a 1965 Pete Rose PSA 4. I think my main focus is going to be on the 1975 Topps set, I'd like a PSA 6 or better of each of the Great Eight to pair with my auto'd baseballs I have of that group. I'm also thinking of starting a collection of all Larkin Topps main set base cards in PSA 10. If I can snag a good deal on a 1960s era Rose, Bench, Perez, or Robinson in PSA 4 or better I'd be happy as well.

I wasn't expecting to get this far deep into collecting again when I decided to go through all of my cards, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Have you looked at Dean’s cards? Type a card you want and put Dean’s cards after it and he has most cards and all different grades. I’ve not bought off him yet but went there a bunch seeing how he priced cards. About every card he has is certified graded or graded by his company and the cards look better than their grade score. When I’m done with all I’m doing I’m going to buy a couple cheaper cards there with his grading that seem too low in price for the grade and if I like what I get I’m going to buy a lot of 70’s cards....2nd and 3rd year cards of HOFers and will delve into some 60’s cards with Rose and maybe Morgan.

Prices might be a little high. He has the PSA 4 at $121.50 and I just missed out on one on ebay for $45.

He’s a little high on some but low on other stuff....but gives a good idea how the % of price goes down for each graded number

Keep me updated on your eBay buying ....I’d like to know the final price you get stuff versus other sites I looked at

Justin,

Found a couple other Larkins.  One's got some wear (was my brother's for awhile, so I can't say where that came from).  You're welcome to them, though.

Cool.  Shoot me a message with your address.  I'll put them in a case, package them up, and send them your way.

He also played for the Yankees. It was just a bad guess, I was attributing some Lou Whitaker to Cecil, I think.

I've been on a buying spree lately. I've picked up 30+ new Larkin's on eBay in the last couple weeks. Also just emailed a guy with an order for 104 new Larkin cards, though some were replacements for damaged cards I already own.

I've finally started cataloging everything in google sheets. I don't have everything logged so far, just through 1996, but have tallied 269 unique Larkin's in the collection. With the cards I haven't logged yet, and the cards on order, I think I'll be close to 1000 total Larkin's. I could be off by a hundred or more, but that's my guess right now.

I also picked up my first graded cards. Spent $12ish on the Morgan because of the ST (staining) modifier. Small wax stain on the back, it didn’t bother me. The Rose was about $38, which is more than I wanted to spend but I kept missing out on auctions by a dollar or less and got sick of it.
