If  one day in 2045 you lose your job because of the perceived alcoholism you have portrayed over the years on this site.....

Unfair?

A costume.

No one should lose a job for a costume they wore 25 years ago.

One of the more absurd things ever posted on here. Not shocked it came from thavoice.

I cannot believe you think someone should resign/lose his livelihood over a costume he wore 25 years ago.

I believe you, of all people, should understand how stupid someone can be in their 20's.

Losing a job over a costume from 25 years ago, what has this world come to.

Yeah, this world is pretty bad. So you should probably leave it.

I have a suspicion that the underlying agenda here is to provoke outrage from Conservatives....for the purpose of campaigning that, if you re-elect Trump, abortion is going to become illegal.

Multiple states don't just one day wake-up and all start moving similar legislation through.

Abortion should be illegal.

It is the killing of a human being.

Unless you believe that baby grows up and wears an offensive costume some day, then it should be legal.

If your livelihood is to serve and represent people of all races then yes. Since he has his medical degree I have no problem with him practicing medicine. For example I have a friend who was a counselor and got a dui, she obviously can’t do that job anymore. There are 8 million jobs she can still do. If they would have found out about a dui that she got at 21 she still would have lost her job even if it was 20 years ago. I’m quite sure if the public had this photo  many people unlike yourself may have changed their vote

I can’t believe this is the hill you want to die on. I don’t know if he’s a racist or not but he can’t be the governor and represent a whole state of people. If he wants to open a private practice then people can decide if they want to go to him for treatment. It’s really very simple. If people don’t want to be treated by him they will choose another doctor 🤷‍♂️

Just to change the topic slightly... But I find something that's been happening really interesting. I think it's pretty amazing that somebody has the patience to go back through years or decades worth of time to dig up something that they can use against a person. It's rather easy and quick to go back a few pages to find something on this site and on Twitter and really fast to google a headline. But there are people who go back through YEARS worth of material. You must either make really good money to do that, have the patience of a saint or your hatred level is off the charts. I honestly don't know if I'd go through years of stuff and even yearbooks trying to find dirt. This has happened to a bunch of people - others finding anti-semitism, old costumes, yearbooks, tweets, FB pages, etc.
I don't know to what degree of patience, money or hatred is involved in these types of things but it's kinda creepy, too.

Edit to add:

1.) I've seen more people (on Twitter) outraged over the costumes he was involved in than they were outraged over his position on after birth "abortion". I think this is very reflectful on the modern left.

2.) Scrolling through Twitter right now it came to me that there shall be no forgiveness given to this guy. None.
Which makes me wonder why. Others are forgiven for terrible things. Hillary was forgiven by the left for people actually dying in Benghazi. But there are left wing supporters of Hillary who are having convulsive fits over this Northram guy. I'm just using this as a quick example at 6am, I'm sure there are better and easier examples but I'm still drinking my coffee.
I'm not black, I don't live in that state, that guy is neither family nor friend to me. To the largest degree I think this is the people of Virginia's to conundrum to handle. But yet it still affects me on a personal level because I can't help but think of the little ones in my family, whom I love very much, who just happen to be of mixed race. So yeah, I have my personal feelings about this. In the main I always try to look at some things objectively but I'm not impervious to subjectivism, either. But ultimately my question is: Who gets forgiveness, what issue gets forgiven, how much time should be accumulated if any?

To add to your first point, whoever does that type of research for the dude who ran against him last year should be shot. How in the hell do you not catch that?! That guy wins the election if that’s found. Instead it’s found a year after the election and he’s probably going to resign

This is a good point. I think that there are still some people out there who think that "nobody is going to take the time to do that and even if they do they will fight me on policy, not on dumb stuff".

It has to be sickening for that candidate who lost. He hires someone to find exactly that type of thing. He doesn’t find it. He loses. A year later it’s found and the governor who won is most likely done. Ouch

I don’t think it was that nefarious.. most likely  it was someone he knew or a jilted exgf ect.. out for revenge obviously many many people knew about the pic and someone finally cashed in. Side note.. how bad is the other guy in the pic sweating right now. Also the gop isn’t taking the high road or possibly knew about the pic, but can’t slam him as they likely have similar pics or have friends that do

Oh that's not what those sound bites are.  Pretty clear the Virginia politicians said that anything will be on the table
