As much as I don't like the decision this school has made I don't think there is anyway a school should be forced to have a social event.

I agree. The ACLU came into this this district knowing the district had little resources to fight in court. They thought the appearance of their thug lawyer would scare the school board into meeting their demands. A school districts purpose is to educate. Extracurricular activities are provided at the pleasure of the school board. They don't have a case. It should be thrown out of court.
