I hope the producers have a 2 hour show when the series is over to explain everything...all the little hidden clues

They haven't mentioned her on the island at all this season. Haven't said what happened to her or Bernard.

Maybe they're the Adam and Eve skeletons they found a couple of years back?

When you stated who was left from the 815 flight, I had to rack my brain to think of anyone still left. Amazing that only 4 or 5 are left.

That seems to be the popular theory but who knows.

So new Locke/Smokey is not Jacob's brother, but Lucifer. If he is able to escape, Armageddon starts.

I liked it, although I think the story did not warrant a whole episode. It just seemed to drag in some places. It would have been nice if it was squashed down to half an episode, with the other half on what's going on now.

Still it was nice to get the Adam and Eve question and how the smoke monster came to be.

I was hoping the episode would tell the Jacob brother story, but would be intermingled with a current plot. Disliked that it got its own show as well.

Some questions to ponder. Is it possible that Linus after he killed Dharma in the initial plot line, was actually taken by the black smoke thing and was possessed and is similar to the current Locke?

How was Ben Linus able to move the island? Doesn't contact with the light kill you?

It was one of the worst written episodes in the series history.

However, it served its purpose. I just wish that sometime in the next 3.5 hours they go back to Jacob and MIB to reveal how their game came about and also when the Egyptians came into play. The could have easily brought us up to that point last night and told us MIB's name.

^^ A lot of people were disappointed last night, especially on forums.

Me? I prefer to let the writers tell me the story, and if they don't think something is important, than it must not be. I feel like MIB's name will be revealed at the end, and there will be a pretty good payoff.

A whole episode devoted to Jacob and the MIB and we dont even get to know his name??? Either his name is going to mean something important or we are just never going to find out what it is.

I agree with you,ohiotiger33..too many people have opinions on what they think should happen, and not what actually happens--it'll all come together in the end.

btw--enjoy your burrito (not you,tiger) :p

Ok: This is long, but I got it off another forum I read, and it is a great insight.

Ben and Widmore were in Jacob's "game" so to speak he applied them to them, perhaps not even literally.

Here is the rather long winded email/post I have on another board.

Point blank, this was a story about MIB and Jacob, NOT THE ISLAND'S POWERS!

What did we see? Well, we were almost 2000 years back in the past. We know there are special people in the world. We know there are pockets of energy around the world. We've known these things since S1.

That's all we saw. Is that a long time ago, an extremely special lady (the mom) and her two stolen boys (one of which was extremely special himself) were near the most exotic pocket of energy on earth. All these idiosyncrasies we've seen over the course of mainly S6 (but really the whole show) are significant because Jacob and MIB made them so....stabbing before talking is the way MIB killed his mom, the whole good v. evil thing stems from their moms teachings. This is, plain and simple....very old, very special, stunted adolescents that have more or less shaped and formed what seems a lot like mystic magic or even a religion.

It's not good and evil in that energy. That's exotic electromagnetic energy period, we saw the knife hit the well when MIB threw it. It's good and evil because that's what MIB/Jacob were told by their mother to call it (MIB doesn't even believe it) and that's what they "made it" (even if not purposely) be. That's the roles they assumed. This is all their interpretation of it. Parallels to who they are.

So basically that is not magic life force light, that's electromagnetism that a 2000 year old crazy (but special) lady was tapping into and explaining/understanding the best she could. As a lot of time went on and Jacob took over ect...the nature of "the protector" changed slightly as Jacob want to bring people there. It will change again when Jack takes over. These aren't innate magical properties that explain the island, these explain MIB/Jacob's "game."

As for MIB, he's not evil. However, his brother still doesn't want him to leave, and his brother is well...sort of slightly brainwashed by his mom (however not bad-crazy...good-crazy). MIB is however innately connected w/ the energy, which btw is the same energy that caused the split in universes. Widmore and Desmond know a bit about this. I suspect well get a different take on the "life force" of the island in the finale, and bit more about what will happen w/ the Alt and Regular time lines if he leaves (obviously having an effect on the energy, perhaps putting it out as his mom guessed).

I'll stop now because I'm really rambling on but I will say I could go on a forever covering every base through this view point, every single question. This is my theory. There are special people that cannot be explained by science as we've known from the start. But the island itself....very much can be and will be explained by "pseudo-science." That is not magic. The magic came from ancient "special" people's (MIB/Jacob's) story and interaction with it. Science explains Lost's ISLAND save for the special people (call them variables...).

Thanks for reading I know it was long. I want to get this out there more b/c I feel like people are piling on this episode as if it answered more than just MIB/Jacob's origin, which it really didn't. People are bashing Lost, and it's because for some reason, they've stopped thinking about things here in the 11th hour, when they should be thinking the most.

I also wondered if maybe Jacob & MIB are actually one and the same, the ying and yang of good and evil that exists in all of us,and we simply see them as two separate people---has anyone besides the mother actually seen them together?? I know it's far fetched, but what isn't on this show !!

Some crazy connections with the Lost cast as well ...

Jacob/MIB mom is played by Allison Janney who has taken S Factor (pole dancing) classes with its founder, Sheila Kelley, who plays Zoey on the show. And Kelley is married to Janney's former West Wing co-star Richard Schiff. Is that some crazy coincidences, or is hollywood just more incestuous than I thought?

And Websurfinbird, who watches Lost, currently takes classes at the S Factor NY studio ...

oooooooooooooo craziness!

I didn't find this episode to be that bad. It wasn't anything special but definitely wasn't as horrible as I have heard some people say. With that being said the last 3.5 hours need to be spectacular. Oh and the thing with not telling the MIB's name better be cleared up because that has been a bad mark on the show for me. It hasn't made me stop watching or anything but I'm not happy that they won't give a name so I'm hoping they clarify.

I really don't see the big deal about the MIB's name. I thought last night's episode was great. It answered a lot of questions.

I'm not looking ahead to the final destination, I am just enjoying the ride (and it's almost over). I think people are getting too wrapped up into how they want the show to be and not what the writers have made it. The writers have been top notch so far, why question them with only 3.5 hours left?

I don't think the MIB name is all that important. He is opposite of Jacob and serves his purpose to try and get off the island. What could his name possibly mean with 2 episodes left?

I expect the final 2 shows to be incredible with many answers and a lot of action leading towards the final battle/confrontation and the answer to the different timelines.

I don't think it's that big of a deal to know the MIB's name but I also don't think it's that big of a deal to say it. I just think that telling his name would have been better than saying "him" every time he's being talked about. I'm not talking bad about the writers because they didn't do things the way I wanted them to. They are great writers. I have said it before. Just simply my opinion on the matter.

Anyways I'm pumped for the final 3.5 hours!
