Maybe Linus will be the next Richard?

I remember that as well, so if it turns out to be the case I will be upset.

^^ I think the "Hell" and purgatory stuff is all misdirection, and is just metaphorical.

I think Aaron is going to be the next guardian of the island. If we're sticking with biblical references, Aaron is the first priest of the Jewish people ... so that has to count for something.

Can someone refresh my memory of where Walt is?

Walt is in NY living with his G-ma, after Michael left to come back to the island and die.

Oh yeah that is right. At one time it seemed like they were building up to something with Walt. I wonder what happened with that.

I have this feeling he will show up before all is said and done. I hope that is.

That was an interesting episode. Lots to ponder about. I really dont have a clue as to where they are. The whole corking up the evil thing makes sense, but it would be such a cop out for them to go the heaven/hell route.

I heard the kid who played Walt is now like 6'3" and looks like a man, so they basically just dropped his story line from the show.

This was, IMO, one of the best LOST episodes ever. Up there with "The Constant".

I have been kind of dissappointed with this season, but this episode catapulted this season.

At least we know now why Ricardo never ages and is so mellow about everything.

Still trying to absorb everything else in the episode. I'm guessing Hurley is the next leader of the island.
My thoughts of Hurley are the same.

This show is going in a direction I didn't think it would. I was thinking JAcob was the evil one and the man in black the good one. They are misleading us but I don't know which way, which is why the show is so great.
ksig489 wrote: Hurley is a good call for the next guardian. He is very underrated in the fact that he does a good job of keeping people calm and together. The obvious choice has always been to make it be Jack (at least thats what they want us to think) but he is just to emotionally unstable. I can't see it being Jack, Kate, Sun, or Sawyer (who am I missing for the 6th candidate???). I like the choice of Hurley.

The only big twist I could see to that is if Jack becomes the force of good for the island and Sawyer takes over for the "Man in Black" and they continue their rivalry for the rest of time.

And I still think Aaron has a huge role to play in this. Maybe Aaron is the guardian? A lot of characters have simply been written out of this show but they always are careful to keep a mention of Aaron in about every other episode.

And last...something big has to happen with Ben Linus. I wonder if he is actually the mastermind behind the whole island and has pitted the men in black/white against each other. Maybe he put himself on the island just to watch the festivities.
I think the 6th canidate you are missing is Sayid. And I believe we don't know if it is Sun or Jin.

I don't agree though that Ben pitted the men in black/white against each other considering they have both been there long before Ben's existence.

I think Alana informed a few of them that they were candidates and Sun was present for that conversation.

Speaking of Sun (they showed a lot of her this episode), so they are not married in the alternative universe, but she is pregnant, bizarre.

That was definitely a flashback. In fact we have already seen the shootout seen in Sayids flashback from a previous season. This time it was shown from Jins though. But Im pretty sure that is a flashback not an alternative universe.

We just saw that scene with Sayid and Jin in an episode earlier this season.

Laley, this was clearly alternate universe. The scene with sayid shooting Keamy took place like 5 episodes ago. This is just the other view of it.

Sun and Jin were married in the normal universe before the flight, and Jin was sterile.

Yea, I don't understand why they aren't married and Jin is apparently not sterile when the other castaways seem to all be the same and have had the same things happen beforehand. Although Jack does have a son that we didn't know about before. I want answers!

Why can't they put a name on the man in black? I'm getting tired of hearing the characters call him Locke or when someone is talking about him they say "you know who I'm talking about." I hope there is an episode solely about him so we can have some answers. (maybe) lol.

^^ I am thinking that his actual name might give away the story too much (Biblical reference maybe).

Please riddle me this:

If Jin and Sun are not married in alternative universe, and Jacob met/touched them at their wedding, how could they be candidates?
