That's all cats do! They are just 'there'. If you want someone to cuddle and jump on you..you should have but a dang puppy. Most cats I know don't go around anyone. That just strut around the house acting like they own everything.

I mean i get the hole there are other options thing.Believe me if I didn't need consuled I wouldn't have posted on the huddle looking for it.It has been 3 long years of waking up and cleanig cat piss.My house from time to time smells. We have hardwood but he pees on the area carpets.Who wants to go through that?If it would have been anyone else they would have beat him to death already. That is why I can't give him away.I would rather see him dead and buried in the yard where I can keep an eye on him then to have someone drop him off to fend for himself.I'm confused.

Cats are effing worthless. Not your cat, I'm sure he/she was great.

But one just pissed on my Taylormade golf bag and he has an appointment to meet my driver the next time I see him.

i can tell you from my personal experience that when our cat started doing this was because she had cancer.... so if you do decide to hold off... get her checked for it.

Have you tried the calming aromatic plug ins for cats? Those work wonders. He is probably peeing out of stress.

Like I said..you are putting him down for being a cat. He's just marking his territory. It's instinctive to them.

No haven't tried that.(plug-ins)But stress and a chemical inbalance is what is causing this.In the last year or so we haven't been able to pin point it though.

depends on if he is spraying or peeing...

cats have a scent gland in their ass and will spray it to mark territory. This is usally solved by cutting their balls off. If it is peeing most likely it is stress if it isn't a UTI, that is usually solved by keeping his litter box extraordinarily clean, using calming aromatics for cats and sometimes even placing a litter box over where they are peeing.

That is what I am saying but what am i to do live in a house that smells like cat urine.the molecules in cat urine spread like wildfire when rubbed or stepped on.i live in a nice house and have nice things.i don't want it to stink anymore and having family or company over can be an embarresment. Is a cat that I given my time and love and money to really worth anymore?I am not a cruel person and i love animals but I don't know if i want to take 12 more years of this.Does anyone at all understand where am coming from?

No, cause my gf is a vet and has taken the moral oath and it just pisses me off what your vet wants to do.

I guess that's something that should have been thought about before buying a pet? And no..I don't think anyone understands where you are coming from. You want to kill a cat for..well..being a cat. Just seems to me like you don't want the responsibility anymore and you are looking for an easy way out. Otherwise..this wouldn't even be an option.

I am just glad your vet isn't my family doctor. Or else I would have to change my facebook status to "dead". Putting someone down for acting crazy and pissing in the house? That's me, and I am still alive.

I am not the bad guy here.It may sound that way but i didn't lie about why this is happenning.I am simply looking in desparation for anything i haven't already done.I have spend upwards of 2000 dollars on my cat and it's problems another 500 dollars replacing everything that has been damaged.I tthink saying I'm not taking responsibilty is out the door.I cried last night and today over this i'm not ashamed to say.

All of this over a cat? I took an oath to never allow a cat inside my house. Keep the appointment.
