The last 2 weekends in Chicago have resulted in 99 shot and 24 dead 2 weeks ago, and 43 shot and 9 killed this weekend = not a peep.

It was meant to be a rhetorical question but the honest answer is the political climate doesn't allow for any rational debate on how to fix the ghettos other than to blame ghettos on white people and racism. It's really sad.

I know it was. Just wanted to provide an actual helpful talking point that our political climate chooses to ignore.

Pretty incredible that committing crime, not caring about education and not working is living under oppression. Of course life is going to feel like oppression when you ignore any avenue to better yourself and expect someone else to be responsible for your own poor decisions.

It's also incredible that these people think it's the 1960's and they live in a civil rights era. Actual intelligent blacks that lived during that era are probably laughing at their "oppression".

A lot of people have been left behind or left out of the "recovery". Some blame racism and riot, others latch onto xenophobia and vote for Trump.

It's easier to blame whites and racism rather than to look in the mirror to see the actual problem. The larger issues facing black children in 2016 are fatherless households, black on black crime and placing no value on getting an education, not 'white oppression'.

Now, I do believe that racism still does exist in this country, but it is not limited to black people, hispanics, etc. But, that racism is no where near what it was in the 50's and 60's and can easily be overcome by getting an education and doing the right thing in life...if that is truly what you want.

So NBC nightly news said about the Milwaukee shooting "...an allegedly armed suspect".

Ummm, ok, technically correct I suppose. But later in the same segment the Milwaukee mayor said he hadn't seen the video, only a still photo "of the suspect pointing a gun".

The segment was mainly around the fact the video hasn't been released. Yeah, THAT'S the story here. Pathetic.

To be fair, it IS the guy's sister. I'd expect her to be defensive and irrational.
