It's not so much Locker being better than Bradford, although he could be. Like I said, he was impressive when i saw him play.Footwedge wrote:royal_k wrote: I like Bradford a lot, but I would really like to wait till next year and make a run on Jake Locker.
IMO if Berry is there at 7, or we have a chance to trade up to get him, we have to do it.
I'm curious as to why you like Locker over Bradford. I watched a few of his games and just don't think he's a pro prospect.
My reasoning is this draft is a very rich defensive draft. IMO a player like Berry doesn't come around very often. If he's there, or if you can move up to get him you have to do it. We obtained 2 QBs that can and will be an improvement over what we saw last year. I believe we have to address defense first. Now I wouldn't be opposed to drafting one later, but not with the 1st pick.

Considering they should have won 7 this year (blew games against Detroit & Cincy) with shitbag QB's, I think they will.Al Capone wrote: Not trying to argue, but no way does Cleveland win 7 games this year.

Tampa Bay signed Sean Jones today. What that means is that the chances of Eric Berry falling to us may have just improved.

I don't care what they have done this offseason, I'll bet you whatever you want on browns and steelers. It could be an avatar bet, I don't really care I just want to prove you wrong.Al Capone wrote:What the hell has Cleveland done to better their team this offseason? I would say the chances of Berry falling to 7 did improve quite a bit with that sign.

First off, it's debatable if they improved the qb situation. Durkie, I'll change my avatar to anything you wish if the Browns have more wins than the Steelers.

If Delhomme can consistently hit passes in that 10-20 yard range, which I think he can, they HAVE improved the QB situation. Last year you had one QB who couldn't complete a pass over 3 yards and another that couldn't complete a pass period.
Delhomme's issues weren't physical. They were mental. He had a shitty year and it snowballed on him. Amusing how a QB coming off Tommy John surgery is "finished." His body of work between 2003-08 when he was a TWO TIME Pro Bowl QB was OBVIOUSLY a fluke.
Wouldn't surprise me if the Browns had a top 10 rushing attack this year which will take a TON of stress off Jake.

I'm not sure about a Top 10 rush offense...but it will be much improved from last year. And I think Hillis can be a nice combo with Harrison...Hillis can get those tough years. When he played a few games as the Broncos RB he did pretty well before getting hurt. Having Vickers blocking a head gor him would be alright.

Considering during the last 5 weeks of the season they were the number 1 rush offense in the NFL, top 10 wouldn't surprise me.big_hits24 wrote: I'm not sure about a Top 10 rush offense...but it will be much improved from last year. I can see this team win 7-9 games with a few more improvements in the right places. They are getting better.

And I don't think they are done with that right side. I could see them draft a RG if they don't make a bid for Rob Sims.ytownfootball wrote: plus bolstering the rt side...
DQ Jackson tweeted that he had "landed and was just getting off the plane." I'm hoping someone signs him to an offer sheet and we let him leave.

I understand they had the #1 rush offense the last weeks but how many times did they run the ball and their opponents really weren't that great...I'm not taking anthing away from the Browns because I root for them but the O-line will have to play pretty solida ALL year for CLE to have a Top 10 rush offense. Passing game can't get much worse from last year so that should improve also..especially since Massaquoi is another yr older, hopefully Robo impresses the coaches and gets more PT, and we have some pretty good TE's, and we can still throw it out to Harrison.

BR i know you keep up the browns and it is quite evident but I cant understand how you are so opptomistic about Delhomme right now and how the browns are better than they were. Did he not just play terrible for a team with a great rushing attack and one of the more productive wide outs in the league? I really think the team as a whole has lacked in cleveland and the easy out has been on the QB since their return in 99. With the lack of skill around i doubt too many elite qbs could have faired much better. Im hopefull Holmgren will be able to upgrade the talent on both sides of the ball this draft and look in FA next year or possibly the draft for our Qb of the future.
