I am so disappointed that we couldn't get Berry. I def would have preferred Thomas to Haden....but hopefully this gets Brandon McDonald off the Browns roster for good.

I thought he was overrated for a mid-first round pick, but worth a early second.devil1197 wrote: Fuck Taylor Mays, I'd rather take Kurt Coleman from OSU or some other safety like Chad Jones. (BTW I am drunk so the Coleman comment should be taken with some salt).
I just hate Mays, he is overrated and I'll be heavily disappointed if he is a Brown.

I was going to say, if the Browns take Coleman at 38 I am going to flip my shit.

I would like to see CLE get McCoy or Clausen with their first pick and come back in the 2nd and maybe get Taylor Mayes or maybe Nate Allen from USF who was talked about being a late 1st-early 2nd round pick...I wouldn't mind seeing the Browns getting Sergio Kindle as a pass rush guy and one of the 2 QB's...I think the 2nd and 3 rounds will be interesting tomorrow for everyone.

With the players still on the board, I really like where the Browns sit right now. I have to think that if either McCoy or Claussen are there, they are the pick. If not, they still get an immediate impact player. So far so good. Five picks tomorrow. That will tell the tale.

Great first selection. Hopefully the Browns will not drop the ball this year in the 2nd round.
Taylor Mays is there. Yes please all the idiots who think not take him are the same morons who said to not take Rey Rey last season.
Sergio Kindle, Bruce Campbell.... Lots of good talent out there I hope they do not fall for the stupidity.

Taylor Mays and Joe Haden wouldn't be too bad of editions to the defensive backfield while adding McCoy or Clausen as QB...CLE can still get a quality WR in one of the rounds tomorrow also!

Devil's right on about this. Taylor Mays is one of the dumbest db's in football. He had a bad senior season. I don't know who Holmgrin will pick, but he will not select Mays.Sonofanump wrote:I thought he was overrated for a mid-first round pick, but worth a early second.devil1197 wrote: Fuck Taylor Mays, I'd rather take Kurt Coleman from OSU or some other safety like Chad Jones. I'm not saying don't take Mays but "Rey Rey" was no better than Jason Trusnik or Maiava (stat-wise) and he also has alcohol issues.BCSbunk wrote:

Just kind of throwing this out there, but how would you guys feel if the Browns took Colt or Jimmy (whoever is available) then being able to snag Golden Tate or Arrelious Benn tonight?

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they passed on McCoy and Clausen and took one of the O-Linemen. I'm not sure if Kindle is an option because he apparently had some "issues" that the Browns are kinda shying away from.

I'm kind on wanting the Browns to sit at 38. If both QBs are gone that means most likely either Scaffold, Capmbell or Brown is there and the Browns would have a first round OL talent on the right side

Reghi had Saffold on yesterday and he seems like a well rounded guy. I had no idea he was a local kid who grew up rooting for the Browns.buckeyes_woowee wrote: I'm kind on wanting the Browns to sit at 38. I just think a lot of this talk was a smokescreen. We've been hearing for about a month how much "Holmgren loves McCoy." Kinda weird how all of this info is out there. I'd like McCoy but I just have a strange feeling they will pass. Hope that's wrong.derek bomar wrote:why wouldn't they take either if they were there?BR1986FB wrote: I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they passed on McCoy and Clausen and took one of the O-Linemen. Keep an eye out for Nate Allen.
I DO think that the Browns will be selecting TWICE in the 2nd round.

We need a QB, and I would take either Jimmay or Colt and be thrilled about it in the 2nd.

Oh, I'd be happy with McCoy, without question. Clausen, not so much. But with the non-QB talent that is sitting there, they may pass and grab a player that can make an immediate impact.

I don't care if they take Clausen or McCoy....I am not big on either of them. I do think they need to get a qb in here to learn the system for a year or two.
I would rather have Kindle or Tate at 38 though.

I'd have no issue with Kindle or Tate but I doubt it will be Kindle.
I like Kindle's swagger. They interviewed him and I think he said he was better at getting to the QB than his former teammate, Orakpo.

I hope we take Tate. The experts say that next years QB class will be much deeper. I would rather not settle with someone just because they are available. We need play-makers.

because they are going to tank this year, magnini will get canned, gruden will get hired, and they'll draft Ryan Mallett next year...

I'd get tate later.
If you pass Allen I have to imagine you'd have to jump Miami to have another shot at him.
I could be wrong, but i think that Miami will go FS or CB with their next pick.
It's also possible that they will go for OLB, but If kindle isn't there I don't think many others make sense this early

Whether true or bullshit, there was some talk that there may have been a bit of "dissention" in the war room over the Haden pick. I'd heard Mangini wanted Kyle Wilson, feeling he was closer to a Revis-type player.

I wasn't comparing Haden to Revis directly genius, I was saying that the Jets have a great defense because they have a shutdown corner. The Browns drafted the best CB in the draft to be their shutdown corner, and it was a great move.dat dude wrote: Lol @ comparing haden to revis
Would Thomas have also been a great pick? Absolutely.....but like I said, they can get an underrated steal like Rolle in the 4th or 5th round to shore up the safety position (especially since they'll probably move Brown over to safety with the Haden pick).

With Haden and E-Wright, who is quickly becoming one of the better corners in the league, back there, that position should be solid for years to come. I just wish they would land a terrorizing, tone setting safety.
