Don't read too much into Haden's 40 at the combine, its well documented he ran with a messed up back.

Once Berry was gone I was hoping for a trade down or Haden since I knew Brown could play safety once Haden is up to speed.

It has been reported we tried to trade down but no one wanted to trade up for even close to equal value (FYI, we got raped last year in our trade downs).

Haden will probably start off as the nickle corner and Brown might eventually move to safety and have Wright/Haden as our 2 CBs...give it a year and the Jets might be the only team in the NFL with a better CB tandem.

Yeah I definitely see a CB combo of Haden and Eazy E and then Sheldon Brown moving to safety, which he is more than capable of doing.

Sergio Kindle probably skipped in first round because of injury
12:54 AM Fri, Apr 23, 2010 | Permalink | Yahoo! Buzz

Rivals.com reported before the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday that former Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle might not be picked until later rounds because of a knee injury he sustained at one point this season. Teams see him as a "serious" medical risk because of his knee, which one team said looks like it could require microfracture surgery.

The injury didn't seem to pose any problems during the BCS national championship game, however, where he posted 2.5 sacks.

Microfracture is a surgery to create cartilage in the knee when it becomes a bone-on-bone situation. It's a surgery athletes tend to have near the end of their careers, not the beginning.

Rivals.com said that Kindle's medical exams showed a series of trauma on the knee that could limit his career.

Athletes have played through injuries such as this one, but it is still something NFL teams need to evaluate before drafting someone.

Rumor has it that New England is interested in Kindle, so we'll see if they come around in the second round Friday.

I can only hope that Bens 1st game back is against the Clowns, so I can watch a real assualt take place. Ben shredding Joe Haden and the rest of that secondary for about 400 yds. hahaha cant wait.

Kind of like he did the last time he played the Browns? Or do you mean this coming year when he'll have 1 less playmaker to throw to? :s

They won't even need Ben to throw to wide open Mike Wallace after he toasts 4.57 Joe Haden. :D

Well I hope Haden had something wrong with him when he ran a 4.57 at the combine. Of course he wasn't "100%." What's interesting is that he ran 4.45 at the Florida Pro day, increasing his time by over .1 of a second. Coincidentally, Carlos Dunlap also increased his combine 40 time by .1 of a second at the Florida pro day. Fast track? Ideal weather conditions? Also, usually pro day 40 times are hand timed as well.

So Ben has had one game his entire 6 year career (11 games) against Cleveland that he threw for over 300 yards and all the sudden he shreds them every time?

He averages 221 yrd/gm against Cleveland. Hardly HOF stats, but obviously not bad either.

No offense to the Stiller fans, but you guys really got raped with the Holmes trade, and it wasn't Big Ben doing the raping either.

I know Holmes is having off the field issues, but you traded away your #1 WR, a guy that was the 7th WR yards wise last year, for a 5th round pick.

Who, on the Steeler's roster is going to replace over 1200 yards receiving, and please don't say an aging Ward.

Oh I didn't say he wasn't a good QB and I didn't say he hasn't beat us.

I just corrected your statement of him shredding us all of the field, which hasn't been the case in 10 of 11 games as he only has 1 300 yard game against us.

They're not going to get Tate. Colbert said the Steelers won't trade up in Round 2.

But anyway, the Steelers will be fine offensively. They're more about spreading it around and being balanced than one player putting up the stats.

They did go for 523 yards -- Ben 417 passing yards -- in the first meeting against the vaunted Browns defense.

Not to turn this into a black & urine thread but I think the Steelers will try to recreate themselves, a bit, offensively.

With the loss of Holmes and the addition of the "man kisser" Pouncey, I see them running the ball a bit more and having a more balanced offense. The Rooney's obviously aren't the coaches but I think the ywould like to get them back to that style of football.

That being said, I don't think the Browns will "fear" their rushing attack because Mendenhall is kinda soft.
