Haden and Easy E together is a sick-nasty combination.
Move Sheldon Brown to Safety
Love the pick.

I'm warm to it. The moment I heard ESPN say that Sheldn Brown has the ability to play safety as well, I knew Haden was still a serious option. Plus Brown is 31.SportsAndLady wrote: Haden and Easy E together is a sick-nasty combination.

Not thrilled about the Haden pick but it could have been worse. Kind of a reach.

Absolutely hate the pick. Can't tell me the browns couldn't have moved down either considering all the trading down. Terrible reach for haden at 7. Joke.

I don't think they could of moved down. look at the picks after them. Big reaches.

Should have taken Spiller. But at least I won't have to watch Brandi the skirt ever again.

First of all, the Browns tried to trade down and couldn't get the right deal. That's a fact. Would you have preferred they made a bad deal just to trade down?
And Haden at 7 isn't much of a reach at all.
Taking the best corner in the draft is a solid choice and helps shore up arguably their second worst team area (secondary) after QB.

Have a link for that fact? They reached for haden, plain and simple. Earl thomas would have made more sense. We got a "shut down" corner who ran a 4.59 40 at the combine with the 7th pick overall. Think about that.

Agreed with Writer. Pick is good, position of need, and the person we wanted was gone. They obviously tried to trade down and didn't find a suitable partner. I'm definitely ok with the pick.

Here's from the OBR...probably the best and most reliable Browns site:dat dude wrote: Have a link for that fact? They reached for haden, plain and simple. Earl thomas would have made more sense. Browns Play It Safe
The Cleveland Browns wound up coming full circle back to CB Joe Haden despite the trade for Sheldon Brown earlier in the off-season. The Browns were attempting to deal out of the pick, but ultimately came back to a very safe selection in the Florida defensive back. Browns fans will instantly question this with C.J. Spiller and Earl Thomas on the board.
Now the Browns will get back on the phone. The Browns will continue to try to move around and grab the players they want. It's now out into the mainstream media that the next player they may really want could be QB Colt McCoy.
Oh and Haden later ran much better 40 times (which you conveniently ignore). Besides, if you watched him play at all this year, you saw him be an outstanding secondary player in a very strong conference. He's a football player, period. Too much crying about 40 times, if you ask me. Trust your eyes.

everyone knows he ran that with a lower back strain from bench pressing at the combine. He ran 4.41 at pro day and every other day.dat dude wrote: Have a link for that fact? News flash: everyone runs faster on pro day. Fact is, when all variables were equal he was in the 4.6 range. Too slow. Not hard to be an oustanding corner on that florida defense. So much talent around him to help out. Listen, I hope so bad that I am wrong and will glady eat crow if need be, but I think its a terrible pick at 7.

I'll go by his play on the field versus some of the best WR's in college football over a Pro Day/Combine 40 time. It was a solid, safe pick (which I'm still not thrilled with) but it WAS a reach. Recent mocks had him falling in the 15-20 range.

I'm with you br. It was a reach, no doubt. Like I said earlier, probably could of had him 10 picks later. Would have much rather picked up thomas.
