To suggest that this team would be headed for a 2-14 campaign with the rookie quarterback, exemplifies your utter ignorance on sports.
Yesterday, I watched the "gimmicks" of the read option run by Wilson and the Seahawks. A "gimmick" that "will never work in the NFL". The Giants were gashed for a team record 350 yards. With Manziel running K Shanahan's offense, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this team would be 7-2...or even 8-1. It's amazing Slick...but you will win MORE games when you play the better quarterback. Really. That's how it works.
While you, Jsmog and fat boy swing on Hoyer's sack, may as well floss your teeth with one of his ball hairs...the 2 birds with one stone phenomenon.
They played a very telling stat in the MNF game last night.
The top 12 teams (record wise) right now, not a single one is ran by a scrambling QB. The teams are...
Cardinals 8-1
Patriots 7-2
Broncos 7-2
Eagles 7-2
Cowboys 7-3
Packers 6-3
Chiefs 6-3
Colts 6-3
Browns 6-3
Seahawks 6-3
Only the Seahawks and Wilson could be considered a scrambler out of that whole group. So please, tell me again how a scrambling QB is going to take over the league?
RG3 is hurt 50% of the time, Newton has sucked since his rookie yet, we all know how well Vick typically works out (great for a few games then either hurt or terrible), Manual was benched, Kaep and the 49ers are not on that list...
I could keep going. The question is, do we want to win or throw a rookie runner out there and lose? Manziel probably will be better next year or the year after, but right now he is not even close to as good as Hoyer.
