TTT.

Posting from my droid as we speak. Love this thing.

Any new apps you are liking?

I'm using the phone browser but a friend of mine has the 'dolphin' browser and likes it. Anyone try it yet?

And then it's on!

What the story with Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and Pandora? Those are really the key apps I'm interested in.

Does Netflix deliver the full movie to your phone to watch offline? That's the real bummer about Hulu is I guess you'll have to buy tv shows from Itunes to watch. Is the Droid compatible with stuff from Itunes?

The Droid is compatible with media from iTunes...you just have to go through a second step.

There is a free program on Motorola's website called Motorola Media Link. It's a free download and will allow you to sync up all your media from iTunes and put it onto the SD card on your Droid. Media Link will actually convert all media from iTunes to a compatible format to be played on the Droid.

You can download Media Link here:

I like the music players..works for me. Try the Dolphin or xscope browser if you don't like the default one.

Downloaded the Home++ launcher..LOVE IT. I get up to 6 screens instead of the standard 3..plus I get rid of all the 'phone', 'contacts', and 'browser' icons too, as it puts a status bar at the bottom with that stuff on it..kinda declutters your page a bit.

Google Maps 3.4 update is available now in the Marketplace. The main upgrade...pinch zooming is now enabled on Maps.

That's pretty good news. It works great, and now I'm very optimistic that a new browser update will be released that allows for the same thing.

What's the normal life of your battery on a single charge? Seems like my battery dies pretty quickly! That is getting annoying.

I generally get a day out of my battery. But I am an extremely heavy user. I use it for the GPS in my car, as an mp3 player while driving, and all day long doing demos for store reps, checking emails, and answering calls. By the time I go to bed, I have about 12% left.

If you haven't already, download the Advanced Task Killer. I usually will go into it every couple of hours and make sure that there's no programs running in the background. And also, add the Battery Control Widget to your homescreen. That's a cool tool that Motorola added that let's you monitor your WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Email/Calendar Syncing, and Display Brightness. The number one reason people lose battery life is because one or more of those settings are on and draining battery even when they aren't being used. That widget let's you turn things on and off very easily.

Have all of that..plus I haven't used GPS or bluetooth..so all that is still turned off..and I'm a moderate user..wouldn't say a heavy user...but I still only have about 5% of my battery left at the end of the day.

Hmmm...might be a bad battery. Maybe take it into a store and see if they'll exchange the battery for you.

today was a light day, about 1 hour 10 minutes of phone calls and its been 15 hours 30 minutes since i took it off the charger. i am at a 70% charge right now. even the days when i use my mp3 player in the car for about 2 hours i still have atleast a 50% charge at the end of the day. i also dont run any widgets, my wifi is off, and it is set to go into idle mode after 1 minute.

I had a bad battery..but mine would last about 6 hours and be dead. I got a new battery and I've been find. I am a moderate to heavy user...I have a battery widget, which is usually between 40 and 20 percent when I go to bed. I also had the Weather Bug App, which is the worst app for weather in terms of battery life. That app killed my battery life, once I uninstalled it, my battery life was much better.

Well, if your battery life stinks maybe your screen settings are using the juice. I have my brightness set almost to the lowest notch and it "sleeps" after 2 minutes of inactivity. But the whole sleep/lock/un-lock thing is kind of annoying. I might turn that feature off but then I'd probably need to recharge during the day. I mean, what's the big deal with "security"? I've never felt a need to lock my phone as it's on me pretty much all the time.

the lock feature is there so you dont pocket dial or start running apps, etc while the phone is in your pocket

if the phones is locked, buttons cant be pressed, no one can be called, etc

yeah i dont mind it, its pretty easy to unlock without even looking at the phone. plus you can see if you have any notifications without even unlocking it.

That presumes it's in your pocket when it's not on. If you are just sitting at your desk or at home, it is probably on a table and then the time-out/lock feature becomes a nuisance. Just saying I miss the old blackberry one-button to read an e-mail I just got...seems like with the Droid you have to click that awkward on button, swipe to unlock, then touch click your inbox.

I suppose to solve that problem you could go with Locale (but I guess the latest update has a bunch of problems with that program) and and maybe disable the sleep mode when you're home or at the office. It would just be nice to have the thing sleep after an extended period and then have it power on, unlocked, with a flick of the screen.

Nope..my brightness is set at zero. Screen timeout on mine is actually set at 1 minute. Just sounds like I might have a bad battery.

I had a bad battery. I had everything set at zero, nothing running and my battery would last about 4 hours. I went into Verizon and told them and they gave me a new battery and it has been perfect.
