It's getting redundant to keep saying, "This is a huge series", but this is a huge series. Last 3 meetings between the clubs. 8-8 so far this year.
Tigers start the day a half game behind the Royals for AL Central Title, a game behind Oakland for the hosting the WC game and leading the 2nd WC by half a game over Seattle.
The Tribe come in 3.5 behind Detroit (tied with Toronto) for the WC and 4 back of Royals in the Division. Surprisingly, the Tribe are just 4.5 out of the 1st WC.
Friday
CC vs Price
Saturday
Salazar vs Lobstein
Sunday
Bauer vs Verlander
Normally, I would post a plethora or stats and trends but none of it matters this weekend. We need 3 beyond quality outings from the starters. I don't anticipate a ton of run support so they have to be good. Need to be aggressive when we do get runners and try to manufacture runs. Caution be damned. Don't leave bullets in the holster. Bullpen mafia has to do what they have done.
2 of 3 will put us in nice shape. KC seems to be coming back to earth a bit. Oakland plays Seattle this weekend. It will be a playoff atmosphere in the Motor City. Likely 3 sell outs.
Go Tribe.
