Gotcha, thanks for clarifying

No he gets 18 for 2 years. Then walks If he wants. Browns saved money for next year's cap and if they would have franchised him next year then they saved about 2-4 million towards next year's cap. Only 4 million guaranteed in 3rd year.

Thanks. So he leaves $8 on the table if he walks after year two.

A lot of "browns got what they wanted, smart move by farmer" tweets from nfl people.

Another nice move by farmer, they're adding up already.

would like to remind everyone that IQQY said Mack was all but gone.
Joe Banner would never have allowed that contract to happen.

Mack's reprieve came when Banner was canned.

Not to mention if it was up to Mack he would be gone right now.

The price isn't going to be paying Mack almost $20 million for 2 years. The price is going to come when his agent who is also representing some other key Browns players want them to be paid as the highest at their positions.

It's going to be fun to watch.

Out of the guys he had worked out, or had in the lab. (Bortles, Carr, McCarron, Bridegewater) Bortles was his top guy this year. He didn't have Johnny Football, so no real way to judge him compared Bortles.

He stated the Bortles is very good at everything, but not great at any one thing, which is IMO what you want your QB to be. You want them to be able to make all the throws, but not be a Jay Cutler and think you can make every throw, every time regardless of coverage.
Sports Science also highlighted this guy's "skills"....

Not saying Bortles is the next Weeden...the Sports Science reference just brought up this memory.

Drew Rosenhaus also represents Haden, Gordon, Little and I think Cameron.

I don't think Mack's agent is Rosenhaus.

And even if he was. Rosenhaus always tries to make the most money for his Clients, thus making more for himself. Also that's kind of the agents job to make his client more money, not really surprising.

Mack isn't represented by rosenhaus. From what I have been reading the Haden extension is pretty much 95% done. Gordon is somebody to worry about in two years, Cameron will be interesting and Greg Little can fuck off for all I care at this point.

I don't remember a time ever a team was handicapped by an agent's high demands based on a deal made with a previous player represented by the same agent. Lol

It's not going to help. 25% more than any other at your position when there's others who play a position that demands much more than that of a center.

The cap is increasing and the Browns have more money under the cap than others ...while just committing to a center for $20 million over the next 2 years paying him way more than any other at his position. The Browns will have their feet held to the fire on those others guys contracts because of what they agreed to pay Mack with respect to other centers.

Mack came out and said he's fired up, and no bad blood.

Good to hear.

Don't know why either side would have bad blood. They couldn't come to terms on their own and they basically let Jacksonville make the deal for them. He's being paid almost 25% more than any other center in the league. He better not have bad blood.

Think they will only use the FB set in short yardage or use it often?

I hope they use it often since I have Tate as a keeper for next season in FF, and the team I went up against for the points title has Josh Gordon.
