I don't remember a Tribe team being this deep. Every player on the roster is contributing. What a great problem Francona has deciding who and when to play guys.

If he batted .240 with his hustle and defense, I'd be happy.

I'd like to see maybe a 50/50 split with Santana, with Carlos 1B or DH the other 40% of the time.

I think late 90's was comparable:

Gomes = Pena/Diaz
Avilies = Espinoza
Rayburn = Burnitz/Giles
Giambi = Winfield/Franco
Chisenhall = Jeff Manto

I like Marson but Yan Gomes needs to stay with the club. I would rather have him play 2 games a week up here.

In 51 ABs this year, Yan has 3 HR and 6 RBI. In 200 ABs last year, Marson had 0 HR and 13 RBI.

Forget his development. His defense is great and he has some pop at the dish. Need him up here. Maybe he can play 3 days a week. Will only help Santana be fresher down the stretch.

Gomes is making his case, obviously, but the main selling point to keep him around will be that the Tribe is competing. If we sucked, no doubt he is in Columbus. But he is helping us win when he plays, and with us in contention, how can you make the argument to send him down?

Awesome to have speed on the team. Bourns speed forced that misplay after the pitcher looked home and realized he had absolutley no shot.
