Yeah, Usher is definitely the better coach, but I disagree that Shakira is a "bumbling idiot"--on any level (see her IQ ;)). Also agree that Cee Lo should stay away, and that goes for Skanky Aguilera as well....btw, I just heard on the radio this morning that Blake and Adam may be considering a year hiatus now as well, so this "musical-chairs" thing may become the norm for the show.

When she attempts to provide constructive criticism, whatever, after a performance, she is not on par with the other coaches. She struggles to find the right words to say a lot, and she seems to just ramble.

I know what you're saying, but I chalk that up to her inexperience and the language barrier (even though she's mastered that pretty well)....do you think she's better than Aguilera though?

No, not necessarily.

Makes sense...the hiatus thing, they both have music careers still.

Shakira can barely speak english and isn't a good singer, so if she goes I wouldn't care.

Pretty much. But Christina was not very good, either. Cee Lo was worthless all around. I wonder if Adam or Blake might take hiatus and then maybe Usher could stay.

But seriously...all they could come up with to replace Christina was some mediocre star that barely speaks English?

As for Danielle, she is good and I'll agree she probably wins. But I'd say there are actually 3-4 others with better voices than her (right now, her voice will be very very good as she matures).

I think it's interesting, in comparison to AI, that because all the performances are very solid the really good performances don't stand out nearly as well.

Did anyone else say "WTF?" when Shakira said Sasha had "one of the best voice she's EVER heard"? I thought Sasha's performance was a mixed bag - started off key, and her high range is actually a little shrill, actually on the verge of screaming on some of those notes.

Hell, compared to the trainwreck of female judges the producers from American Idol came up with, Shakira is fucking Celine Dion!!!

That's a good point. Interestingly enough, a number of the female consultants (Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, etc..) seem like they would be a lot better. Not everyone has a career they can put on hold, but maybe the simple answer is most singers don't know how to coach and develop. Usher is obviously the real deal, and while they may have lucked out with Blake and Adam I'm not sure they aren't much better personalities than coaches.

Blake doesn't seem to have that great a voice either, his singing voice doesn't sound much different than his talking voice.

I agree with you here, and it makes you wonder what exactly the producers are looking for.

After tonight's results I'm not surprised Garrett got voted off, having him do a Backstreet Boys song was terrible. But I would liked to have seen Vedo stick around for at least one more round... My favorite is Kris Thomas as of right now mainly b/c I'm more of an R&B fan but Danielle is a lock for the finals at least.

Sarah Thomas is, I think, better. But it's going to be a huge uphill battle to overcome all the teen girls voting for Danielle. I forget if they go from 3 or 4 remaining down to the finalists, but probably the only way Danielle loses is someone splits some of her votes. But aside from Kris Thomas, and possibly Bieber 2, I don't see anyone left to do that.

If Blake and Adam go on hiatus at the same time, the show will struggle. These shows are built on chemistry among judges, which Blake and Adam have the most among any of the judges. If they do go on hiatus though, I would like to see Luke Bryan take Blake's place.

It would be pretty bad with Usher, Cee Lo, Christina and Shakira.

Agree on the chemistry thing. It's about the only thing that makes the judging worth watching. Criticism is actually pretty rare (outside of the actual mentoring, but not on stage). The judges on the live shows are kind of worthless, but most of these performances would be homeruns on AI.

Well yea, there's just more talent on the Voice. They don't play up to storylines and shock factor like AI does.

Thought Kris Thomas sucked, wish he went home over Garrett. Garrett got screwed by Shakira, why the fuck would you give him a repurposed backstreet boys song? Stupid.

Also - the show is half country singers, ugh, awful.

Really thought it should have been Paul Simon and the Blasian to go home. Josiah was actually starting to grow on me a bit - he's got a fairly interesting voice.

I think there's a real chance Usher is done after next week. You'd think it would be a semi-disaster if Usher and Shakira were done while Blake and Adam each had 3 left. I doubt they would rig the vote, but...

Blake must bring a pretty big country voting bloc to the show, because I would never have bet Josiah went home before the Swan brothers. I think it might be a little advantage to be country, too, because there are a lot of good/fun country songs that I suspect many people aren't familiar with (so they do better, because most aren't going to compare them to the original).

Danielle has probably wrapped it up for sure now as I think the only way she could have lost was someone splitting votes with her, and both of the guys who could do that went home tonight. Heck, the Swan brothers are the only male contestant left.
