I'd prefer Ertz in the late first second round. I don't want to spend the #6 on a TE, but I think TEs are becoming a strong offensive weapon in today's game.

I'm they can find some sucker who wants Geno, I'm really leaning toward a trade down & Warmack. If they don't land a FA guard, that's going to be a priority.

And then Lombardi asked "do you think Craig Powell can still play?"

I bet if the Browns start putting out smoke screens saying they want Geno, the Cardinals might be willing to throw some wood to try and nab him. The problem is, the teams in front of the Browns might try to do this as well and get them to leap the Browns. I think the Cardinals take him if he falls to #7, which I think he will.

I also think Patterson, the WR from Tenn, is on my want list. Give Weeden a hell of a lot of firepower to work with.

I hate to be this optimistic, but I think the Browns are going to make the playoffs this year.

That's what Miami is trying to do with Tannehill. Surround Weeden with weapons and if he blows, move on in 2014.

Mike Wallace is going to blow in Miami.

Those teams can do that, but the Browns are interested in their interested players as well.

I think we are going to have a top 5 defense in the league + a strong running game with Richardson. That is a recipe for success in the AFC North. The Steelers and Ravens are both getting worse and the Browns are getting a lot better.

False. I haven't predicted the Browns to be in the playoffs ever on these forums.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...this is the first time I've predicted playoffs for these guys. I called 7-9 last year (shoulda, coulda, woulda) and that these young guys would hit their stride and make the playoffs THIS year. Durk may throw out that prediction every year but sleeper & I don't.

I just think right now is the "perfect storm" for Cleveland & Cincinnati. Both of those teams are young while Baltimore took a big hit (losing players) and the Steelers keep using their restructuring "credit card" with players. Browns success will be predicated on QB play. If Weeden's a turnover machine, no chance. If he reigns it in, pretty good chance.

I tink will be better this season by default. Addition by subtraction with getting patty fuckhead out of there. We may actually see some creativity, non predictable offense this season. God I hope we no longer see 2 yd slants on 3rd and 7

Don't think Norv runs a lot of slants. Mostly vertical stuff so if they need 8 years, I'd expect receivers to be running at least 9 yard routes.

No issues with slant routes, I jsut want the routes on 3rd down to go to the fucking yard we need to get a first down.

I guess the way I typed that post it made it seem like you guys always predict them to be in the playoffs. I just meant it as Deydurkie always predicts them to be in the playoffs.

Designing plays to cross the first down marker... what a noble concept.

There were some talks yesterday about trading Sheard and a pick to the giants for victor Cruz.

The more I think about it we have t really been going after any guards ill bet money we try to trade down and take warmack or cooper. I would love this. Possibly 4 pro bowl offensive lineman would be nasty

Definitely sounds like the corner is Talib and that he's torn between returning to New England and moving on to more money (Cleveland).
