Rotoworld likes the signing quite a bit... Hopefully there are a few more to come!
Desmond Bryant - DL - Browns
Browns signed DL Desmond Bryant, formerly of the Raiders.
We love it. Bryant shows a relentless motor, can both rush the passer and stuff the run, possesses scheme versatility at 6-foot-6, 300 with athleticism, and played his college ball at Harvard. Cleveland's 3-4 front seven is coming together with Bryant and Ahtyba Rubin likely on the ends, Phil Taylor at nose tackle, and Paul Kruger and Jabaal Sheard as rush 'backers. The inside linebackers project to be D'Qwell Jackson and James-Michael Johnson. Looks good to us.

What happened with Munnerlyn? I heard we had interest in Jennings, too, but looks like he's either going back to GB or to MIN.

I still don't get signing a DT. Rubin and Bryant at DE's. WTF?! Do they realize how tired that line is going to get. Those are some big boys.

Can always use D-line depth

So you question the signing, then worry about the DL getting tired?like_that;1404779 wrote:I still don't get signing a DT. Rubin and Bryant at DE's. WTF?! Do they realize how tired that line is going to get. Those are some big boys.

I didn't take like that's post like that..I took it as Rubin and Bryant will be forced to play more DE, which will make them tired since they're used to just clogging up lineman at DT and not really rushing around the edge.se-alum;1404801 wrote:So you question the signing, then worry about the DL getting tired?

3-4 DE's play much the same role as the DT's in a 4-3 as the rush comes mostly from the LB's on blitzes.SportsAndLady;1404805 wrote:I didn't take like that's post like that..I took it as Rubin and Bryant will be forced to play more DE, which will make them tired since they're used to just clogging up lineman at DT and not really rushing around the edge.

Not going to ask them to rush around the edge.SportsAndLady;1404805 wrote:I didn't take like that's post like that..I took it as Rubin and Bryant will be forced to play more DE, which will make them tired since they're used to just clogging up lineman at DT and not really rushing around the edge.

O-line got worse?Commander of Awesome;1404734 wrote:Bungals are a decent team, steelers are always in it and Browns may be better. I'd say AFC North is the toughest division in football.
That being said, Ratbirds have Flacco (mediocre reg season QB who half way through last season BSPN was talking about benching and QB options for them) and Rice. Def has been cleaned out though. Be interesting to see if Kindle can step up and play a role (lol lol lol). Flacco has rice and pitta to throw it to...lol lol lol
Oline got worse, WR got worse, Def toook a huge step backwards.......Ravens might be worst in the division next season.

That's a very selective interpretation of my post. The Browns already have bough DTs thus why I scratched my head with them signing a DT as opposed to a DE. I wasn't questioning depth....

I know this is wishful thinking, but how sweet would it be if the Browns were "the other team"...
Darrelle Revis - DB - Jets
ESPN New York confirms the Jets have engaged in Darrelle Revis trade talks with the Bucs and one other team, but no move "appears imminent."
The Jets still haven't granted Revis' representation permission to talk with other teams, and have made no extension offer of their own. It's never been more clear that Revis is on his way out of New York, but reports that a trade to Tampa could go down at any moment were premature. The slow developing nature of the free-agent cornerback market should work in the Jets' favor.

Had to drive my Jeep this morning so no Sirius XM. No shocker but Chuck Booms is still an idiot. He loved the Kruger signing and said the Bryant signing was unnecessary. Kept harping on "Billy Winn...Billy Winn."
A) Winn is a tad small to play 3-4 DE b) 3-4's generally have 300+ pounders to eat up blockers for the LB's and c) from everything I've heard, Winn is trying to "recreate" himself by cutting weight and taking a shot at OLB.
Oh...and Booms has a hardon for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I guess it all depends who they get with the 6th pick. If they get Jordan, wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them trade Sheard for a 2nd. I don't mind having those three guys as pass rushers.
Who will be playing inside beside DQ?
