Will the Browns have any interest in Fitzpatrick?

Insiders over on the OBR saying, so far, there's been no interest.

I want NOTHING to do with Geno Smith. Maybe use him to trade rape the Cards, but that is about it. I like COA's idea of Manuel in the later rounds, and groom him while Weeden plays. Weeden passed the eye test for me last year to get another year under the center, and not draft a QB in the first round.

Manuel is moving into the first round, possibly 2nd.

No problem with Manuel in a later round and I agree with what you're saying. I think Geno's stock is going to be inflated because of the craptastic QB's in this draft and a teams' desparation. I wouldn't touch him until the 20's in the first round. Give Weeden another year in a system more suited to him. If he absolutely blows, cut bait.

If the Browns can trade down and get a 2nd, they might be able to grab him. I just don't want fucking Geno with a first round pick.

Bernard Pollard was released. I think the Browns should give him a look. He tore Brady's ACL..... maybe Rapistbergers?

I agree with this. Also think Little is #2. I'd like to see Heyward-Bey, Ogletree, or Edelman added to play in the slot.

I think many (including myself...initally thought 5-6 good years) are seeing that Weeden may not be the long-term solution, as much as a stopgap. I think what a lot of us are thinking is "yes, Weeden may not be the guy but a) there's not a significant upgrade in the draft or FA and b) might as well see what he can do in this new system."

Don't think he's necessarily going to be a Hall of Famer or even an "elite" QB but you don't reach BIG TIME for someone like Geno Smith just for the sake of doing it. That's why all of this Ryan Mallett talk is pissing me off. Dude hasn't had significant playing time and he's already an "upgrade" over what we have?

If you're going to use a #6 pick on a QB you'd better be sure he's a "sure thing" ala RGIII/Luck.

RG3/Luck type players are once in a generation BR.

Or we could throw #6 at another Blaine Gabbert (serious reach). I get your point and I used those examples to make a point. If the talent is marginal (ala Gabbert/Ponder) you don't use a high pick on them if you know it.

I am not certain that RG3 will have a better pro career than Bridgewater or Manzel.

Keith Britton ‏@KeithBritton86

That CB goes by the name of Aqib Talib. I think we'll know more later today on him. Still TBD if #Browns are serious player for him23 min ago

Adkins just posted in the "rumors" section that the Browns were in "serious talks" with a "name" CB.

I don't want a QB at #6. Based on our free agent signings so far, let's pick up something on the offensive side of the ball. Either a WR/OL/OG etc. If the talent isn't there at that price, trade back.

"Name" could mean Talib, DRM, Ashougha (SP), Lewis or the Ravens guy right?

Plus I think we need to draft a TE, either Ertz or Eifert.

Don't need a top flight TE IMO, and I def dont want to burn a 1st round pick on one, ESP a ND one.

Exactly. I just found it interesting that you posted that about Talib right when I saw Adkins post. I can see the jokes now about Haden & Talib, the Adderall Twins...

With Bennett going to the Bears, I bet the Giants burn their 1st on a TE. No way they use a #6 on a TE...would they? I thought only Butch Davis did that.

A lot of good CBs on the market now. Should lower their price.

Plus we have Jordan already. I think he can be a pretty good TE.
