I don't think they are done signing people. Karlos Dansby, who may have a relationship with Horton, was just released and they could kick the tire on Maualuga.like_that;1404890 wrote:I guess it all depends who they get with the 6th pick. If they get Jordan, wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them trade Sheard for a 2nd. I don't mind having those three guys as pass rushers.
Who will be playing inside beside DQ?
I'd expect to see a TE (Brandon Myers?) and a CB (Munnerlyn?) signed in the next 24-48 hours.

You don't think JMJ or Fort can fill in at ILB?
Hell, do they even plan to keep gocong?

I think Gocong is gone, but he could fill that "thumper" role. They just need to make sure the guards don't get to DQ.

Liking what they have done in FA so far. Davis and Munnerlyn would be a great end to FA, IMO.
I dont think they go Jordan at #6 now.

As far as your second comment, I'm starting to think that if they keep stocking up on OLB's and Milliner is gone that Geno Smith might be the pick....gulpPick6;1404911 wrote:Liking what they have done in FA so far. Davis and Munnerlyn would be a great end to FA, IMO.

Mary Kay Cabot ‏@MaryKayCabot For TE Jared Cook, QB was a huge factor in signing w/ Rams. #Browns uncertain QB situation is a factor for some offensive FAs.

What's wrong with Geno? Do you just not think he's going to be a good QB? Or do you not want him taking over for Weeden? If it's the latter, I don't think he'll start year 1 at all. May be the 2nd, possibly 3rd year before they relinquish Weeden's duties for the rookie.BR1986FB;1404912 wrote:As far as your second comment, I'm starting to think that if they keep stocking up on OLB's and Milliner is gone that Geno Smith might be the pick....gulp

Yawn..we have enough 2nd, 3rd, 4th WRs. They better not bring in a FA WR unless it's a #1. Which aint happening. So no WR FA's!BR1986FB;1404929 wrote:Browns have supposedly inquired with the Tits about WR Nate Washington....

I just don't think he's worth the pick.SportsAndLady;1404932 wrote:What's wrong with Geno? Do you just not think he's going to be a good QB? Or do you not want him taking over for Weeden? Look...Weeden may or may not be the answer for a few years, I know this, but I'd rather see them a) take a later round QB in this draft to groom or b) hold out until next year and get a better QB.
For those that said the Weeden pick was a "panic move", this would be just as big of a panic situation. For Christ's sakes, I see Matt Barkley in projected to go in the top 10 and he's a 2nd rounder, at best. That's how desparate some of these teams are for a QB.
If Weeden shits the bed in this new system, I'm ALL for getting his replacement.

I know it is early and the browns need LBs for the 3-4. Kruger is a good pickup.
The weakness of the browns has been on the other side of the ball. I Understand with beefing up on the defense as a good D will always keep you in games, but until the browns seriously invest on the offensive side of the ball I think they just wont be able to get over the hump. Its early, and the draft is still coming up so they have time but they better focus on th eother side of the ball.
Nate was a decent 3-4 guy in pittsburgh, kinda forgot about him in Tennessee, but he wont do anything to bolster that offense.

So you wouldn't want to take the better QB at 6 to groom, but want to take a 3rd rounder to groom?BR1986FB;1404935 wrote:I just don't think he's worth the pick.

No one is talking about Matt Barkley, so not sure why that was brought up. He can GFH.
Taking Geno and grooming him behind Weeden is literally the exact opposite of a panic move. It shows composure and that our FO actually has a plan, for once.

In today's NFL, you don't groom a top 10 QB. He gets thrown into the fire immediately. In your scenario, I wouldn't have a huge issue with it but whether he'd be a better option, or not, as a rookie, he'd be the starter.SportsAndLady;1404939 wrote:So you wouldn't want to take the better QB at 6 to groom, but want to take a 3rd rounder to groom?

Not just my opinion since most of the analysts I've seen said Weeden would've been the top QB in this draft. If he "sucks", then Geno sucks worse. Simple math...SportsAndLady;1404948 wrote:Your opinion..which hasn't been right since....?

So messed up...that sign & trade CBA thing discussed about Mallett yesterday? I have no idea what that was about only that I heard under the old CBA you couldn't resign your own player until year 3, or something like that?
Anyway...what I'm getting at is that old Grossi is speculating that IF Matt Cassel gets released by the Chiefs (who just signed Chase Daniel & traded for Alex Smith), he will go back to NE and Mallett will be traded to the Browns. Apparently, New England was going hard after Desmond Bryant when the Browns signed him. It's speculated it would be one of the Browns D-Linemen (likely Rubin).

Who are the QBs next year? Can really only think of Murray and Bridgewater. Next years class might have the best QB prospect in Bridewater, but I'm not sure if it will have the depth of this year (if that makes sense).
