Carolina is in for one hell of an ass whooping.

There is no way they hang with Indiana. None.

Dont know if this is a reverse jinx or not. But I agree only if IU finds itself open from distance. They will bury teams who leave their shooters alone. But if Carolina forces IU to give it to Zeller, they have more than a shot. It sounds odd, as Zeller is our best player, but he has had bronchial influenza for over 2 weeks now and finally showed flashes of looking like himself versus Ball St. But he still isnt fully back. Carolina can get him to force some bad shots.

NC is way down this year, but NC State is a bitch. I'll say 9-3, B1G.

PJ Hairston sprained his knee during practice Sunday. It's not a severe injury, but he won't be making the trip to Bloomington. That certainly doesn't help Carolina's cause.

Boston College just lost at home to 2-2 Bryant College by 12.

I know Penn State is brutal, especially without Frazier again, but still...BC is awful. That might be the worst match-up ever in this annual set up.

Let's just say that Roy Williams' teams at UNC aren't notorious for their three-point defense. IU's shooters will be playing p-i-g out there. It's just a matter of whether the shots are falling. If they are, the Heels can probably catch an earlier flight because it will get hideous quick.

That's unfortunate for UNC about Hairston, because he's one of the guys that can really light you up in a hurry. Big blow.

That game was actually yesterday. I only know cause I usually follow up on IUs OOC opponents early on to get a feel of how good or bad they actually are. Ive come to conclude Bryant still isnt good and BC is that bad.

If the ACC wins 4 games I will be happy. Only one game do I really care about, but the conference as a whole has been down the last two years. So much coaching turnover hasn't helped and I don't see it getting better for at least 3-4 more years (provided some of these AD's keep coaches around). Why in the heck did BC fire Al Skinner? GaTech may soon be regretting the dismissal of Paul Hewitt. The only two coaching changes I have seen that has produced better results are at Clemson and UVA. Wake will be looking for a coach in the next 3 years I figure. Jury is still out on the Pack but their recruiting has improved.

Big Ten basketball has been more stable in recent years and I think that it manifests itself here.

Despite the disappointing start to Miami’s season, highlighted by the double-digit loss to Florida Gulf Coast, the Hurricanes actually have an excellent core of talent. Last year’s leading scorer for Miami, senior Durand Scott, is now back from suspension, and it was his absence that made the team so vulnerable to an upset early in the season. With Scott rejoining Shane Larkin in the lineup, the Hurricanes’ backcourt improves dramatically. Scott is one of the more proficient defensive players in the ACC and his creativity offensively, primarily his ability to penetrate and breakdown his man, is the perfect complement to Larkins’ explosive outside shooting. This duo will vastly improve Miami’s overall level of play, and that improvement was more than evident in the Canes’ thumping of Horizon favorite Detroit in Scott’s first game of the season over the weekend.

Then you have the 6-10 monster in the paint, Reggie Johnson, a rebounding machine with all of his baby fat who is very tough to stop on the low block when Miami feeds him the ball. He scored 27 at Duke last year and was easily the most dominant player on the floor in that game. He’s been slowed down by injuries and suspensions, but I expect a big showing out of him against the Spartans. He seems to like the spotlight.

My overall gut feeling is that Miami, finally healthy and all together again, will be hungry to prove that its preseason top four ranking in the ACC was not a mistake. And as history has shown us, Michigan State teams do have a tendency to play beneath expectations early in the year. Thus my pick.

I know you're ACC biased and all but you even said it yourself. Its a team that lost by double digits to Florida gulf coast vs a team that beat a top 10 Kansas team this year.
Reggie Johnson would be matched up with Derrick Nix whos every bit as big and strong as him and also Payne whos length would almost certainly cause a problem for him. But Its just your opinion so it cant be wrong I suppose.

Gary Harris being out really hurts MSU.

I also think their best line-up will be PAyne OR Nix playing. Not bother. Neither has an offensive game and they just clog the floor. They are almost a trainwreck to watch play together imo. I think this will be a VERY close game (lets be honest, MSU has looked like shit many times on the early season) with MSU pulling it out by 5 or less.

I think MSU is in that zone where they're easy to bet against because of how they've been barely beating no-name teams over the past couple weeks where people automatically think "If they struggled against Louisiana-Whoever, what'll happen in this game?!?"
