They have 2 straight top 10 classes since RR has been at UM, the only thing you proved was that Carr had better classes then RR while RR was at WVU which isn't a surprise (lets see im a 5* player, would I rather go to UM where they are a top program and play in the big10 or go to WVU where they are a solid program that plays in the big least? hmmmmmmm tough decision) As for the carr argument ill say it again, go back and look at how many of his top players on D actualy turned out to worth a damn or even stayed at UM. 20 players left UM before RR even took over, and the "top" D talent turned out to be useless and were benched and replaced by walk-ons or freshman (with the exception of BG and Donavon Warren). So yes Carr could recruit but in his later years he did not recruit very well for the D and Depth.

Look at those 2005 and 2006 classes that carr recruited...... basically nothing but busts.

read the last sentece again. I said that carr could recruit (not like he went his entire career at UM without getting good/great players) but toward the end of his time at UM he did not recruit on the D side very well. He didn't get very many top players that panned out and added almost no depth. It is on him for not giving any depth to the D and it is partialy his fault for them not developing.

Michigan just recieved a HUGE commitment from 4 star DL Jibreel Black! Jibreel was the number one rated DL on the michigan board and they got him!

Their is only 1 or possibly 2 more spots open in the Michigan class. Needless to say if Sean Parker and Demarr Dorsey both want to commit they'll take them both and go looking for grayshirts.

You beat me to it. I have a good feeling about Dorsey, its basicly between UM, FSU right now with USC a distant 3rd. Parker has basicly been blue for awhile but USC scares me on this one

Nice pickup for UM...How many freshman do you all think will start on D next season?

I really cant think of any that will start on defense next season but I expect Cullen Christian, Jibreel Black and possibly Sean Parker ( if he commits) to see time.

So next year's D will probably be pretty bad still...?

The defense next year should be improved simply by these kid's having a full year in Grob's defensive system along with another year to grow and mature. It's real hard for Kid's to develop when they're constantly having to learn new defensive system's every year. When that happens the kids start thinking instead of reacting.

the front 7 should be solid the secondary is a ? alot of new faces in the secondary next season

Just so long as Michael Williams and Jordan Kovacs are not the faces back their next season I dont really care.

I'm excited to see JT Turner possibly starting.

I expect the secondary to look something like this

CB-Floyd/Cullen Christian
CB-Turner/Cullen Christian
FS-Woolfolk
SS-Vlad Emilien or Demar Dorsey/Sean Parker (if they commit)
You also might see Woolfolk and Turner switch positions(both can play corner or safety). Michael williams will most likely never see the field again and Kovacks will go to special teams where he belongs. I mean come one GRob couldn't have had future plans for Kovacks he couldn't even remeber his name most of the time.

The top 2 perfomers for UM last year were Carr recruits. Brandon Graham, and, when he was healthy,Brandon Minor. What they brought to the table this year is beyond measure.

IMO, RR needs more size on D unless he plans on running a 5-2 because in the Big 10, the run HAS to be stopped first.

I didn't know brandon minor played D? Of course BG was the most productive player last year on the D he had more experiece then anyone and last time a checked all of RR's recruits are still freshman/soph

Bad verbage on my part. I just meant to illustrate that Carr did indeed do a good job of recruiting. My last statement was in agreement that the D needs major changes to be successful.

Mark Ingram was a sophomore, Tim Tebow was a highly contributing Freshman, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Adrian Peterson, Braylon Edwards, Mario Manningham, The ATrain, Chad Henne, Ty Wheatley, Ernest Shazor, Charles Woodson were all very young when they got noticed as being great. What does Michigan have really? Tate? Tate is one hell of a competitor, but too much of a loose cannon that believes too much that he is his own worst enemy. No, OSU, PSU, MSU are his worst enemies.

All of the guys you just mentioned were surrounded with talented guys all around them and were not depended on to carry the team on their back. Also if you follow UM you should know what they have around on the team that SHOULD be having break out years. (Craig Roh, Mike Martin, Will Campbell, Turner, Floyd, Emilien on D. Stonum, Roundtree, Vincent Smith, Kevin Koger on O.) It's not like the depth chart is full of shit players. RR has done a very good job of recruting talent and depth since he came to AA, the problem is they are ALL young. Tate will be improved IMO, he was overhyped to much after the ND game and people forgot that he was a fresh qb playing in a system that depends more so then most offense on great qb play and had a bunch of fresh/soph surrounding him. If he doesn't improve the im sure either Denard Robinson or Devin Gardner will step up.

Your listing individuals that by and large were surrounded by highly talented and expierenced teamates. That was not the case with this year's team.

Also Tate is his own worst enemy but I have a feeling Tate's attitude is going to be in for an adjustment with Devin Gardner now on campus. Bottom line is that if Tate makes the same kind of incredibly stupid mistakes' he'll be on the bench quickly.

Michigan had the worst rosters in UM history the past two years. Very little talent compared to other teams. The main contributors for those teams are supposed to be upper classmen, which would have been Carr recruits. iWith RR's recruiting, Michigan is starting to get more and more talented and will soon be back on top.

3* CB/S Rashad Knight is down to UM, Rutgers (dropped Ole Miss out of it today)
4* S Sean Parker has dropped cal off his list (no surprise there). He has 1.UM(RR still has his in-home left) 2. USC(offical visit this weekend) 3. Washington (visited last weekend)
4* S Demar Dorsey did NOT commit to FSU (according to Scout insiders) but did visit them last weekend. RR visits him this week as well.

So are we supposedly the favorites for all 3 of those players?
