He was a 2nd/3rd round pick before today, it isn't just the combine. Averaged 29.3 yards per reception (28 rec, 820 yards), which is insane. He's a legit deep threat. Catches obviously limited by playing in the Georgia Tech triple-option.

But a 4.3 obviously doesn't hurt.

The nice thing is...seems like a lot of receivers are looking pretty damn good, so there is a chance that an elite one is there at 22. Sadly though...we want to give up everything so RG3 can run for his life and bounce the ball off of the stonehand receivers that we already have.

C'mon now, Tooth...not you too? You gotta be smarter than THAT. Is there a new rule in the NFL that says "oh, shit...Browns drafted RG3....return ALL of the free agents you signed and you're not allowed to use ANY more of your draft picks." Drafting RG3 and filling holes is NOT "mutually exclusive." BOTH can be done. I'd rather see them fill the GAPING hole at QB and get it over with than continue to suck the next 3-5 years.

Just throwing this out here, but I think the fans are the only real ones that get caught up in the combine. I think, and have heard, that most boards are already mainly set, regardless of what occurs at the combine. RGIII might have moved up a bit actually being 6'2" but the 40 really doesn't change anything.

I just don't like what the price is going to be. Teams that give up virtually entire drafts usually regret it. I have no problem with RG3...Colt isn't the future obviously.

That's very possible. I guess the only explanation was that the Raiders were run by fans.

Well if we can get a one of the top tier receivers in fa and a rt. and possibily a DE/lb in free agency I would be perfectly fine giving up a ton of picks for rgIII bc we filled a lot if ours holes in fa. Garçon declined indys 5 year offer so he will most likely be available.

that is where I have my doubts. This front office had chances to make the team competitive last offseason and stood pat. I don't trust them...no matter how many times Holmgren says we should...lol

The combine can be huge for guys with red flags. The interview process is definitely not overrated, even if all of the on-field things are.

Agree with this. That's why Heckert not being at the Combine after his bypass surgery is no big deal to me. He sees the film. He has his board pretty much set.

One "larger" signing and several smaller signings. But what may seem "larger" to the Browns won't necessarily seem "large" to Browns fans.

I'd take more stock into this if players didn't meet with the teams in a more personal setting closer to the draft.

This is why you're such a douche now.

Yeah, how dare us Browns fans hope and wish a QB on our team actually plays well!!!

yeah, I wasn't greedy. I would have been happy with a Derrick Mason type...someone to mentor the young receivers. And address some obvious depth issues...but they did nothing.

Boards may have been set prior to the combine, but any team that was in wait and see mode on RGIII has now been cleared for all systems go because not only did he measure in bigger than expected, but also ran a sub 4.4 40. Everything that could have gone right for him at the combine did, which is why his price tag went up regardless of whether boards were set or not.

eh, lets not get into name calling now. I agree with your philosophy about building the team, but lets play civil.

We have plenty of money to spend. I would love to see them make the move on RGIII, then go after a Vincent Jackson type in free agency because he is still young and fills a major hole.

How much better would this offense look with a healthy Hillis in the backfield with RGIII under center and Jackson on the outside.

Snag a RT in free agency and suddenly we have a far more capable offense that might actually be able to put points on the board.

Which is exactly why the Browns won't have RG3 on the team.

he's not going to last til #4, and H&H are certainly not going to throw 2 first rounders and 2 other picks to get him..despite what the "all knowing i've never been to a Browns game self proclaimed Browns expert" on here says, there are way too many holes to just give up 4 picks to get a QB...yeah, Free Agents are going to be itching to come to Cleveland  . Then we'll just rely on our 4th and 5th round picks to put weapons around RG3 and build depth. lol so delusional, yet so many people on here fall for his spewed bullshit

I think we'll see more this offseason but likely young guys, with upside, just completing their rookie contracts.

Might as well go after Tom Brady. Then try to get Andre Johnson for a 4th-7th round draft pick. Then we can just steal defensive players to build depth...i'm talking literally going to green bay and kidnapping Clay Matthews. Might as well bring Billichek along with Brady, too.

You're going to be crying in your Colt McCoy jersey that has your spooge all over it from your nuthugging when McCoy is NOT the QB this year ya little midget bitch.
