I didn't care either way as I like both fighters, but Hendricks definitely won rounds 2-3. Anyone who doesn't feel that way should never judge a fight again.sportchampps;1683362 wrote:2-3 were Hendricks for sure 5 was Robbie 1-4 were super close and I'm not mad either way 49-46 is bs though I wanna see fight number 3
Robbie definitely won rounds 1 and 5 in my opinion with 5 being dominating 2-3 were pretty dominant for Hendricks).
I also had round 4 for Hendricks and he probably did in his head as well which might explain his utter lack of anything in round 5.
I disagree with the decision but could see round 4 being called for Robbie. The judge that went 49-46 should be fired.

1) No one cares about women's MMA outside of Ronda Rousey.Scarlet_Buckeye;1684178 wrote:I'm surprised there's been zero talk on here about (1) this Ultimate Fighter season and (2) the two insane free UFC cards this weekend.
2) The card on saturday looks pretty good, especially with 3 HW, doubt they last very long. RDA and Diaz should be a great fight though.

Yeah, outside of Ronda, I don't care for women's mma at all.

I have always been a fan of Jones the fighter but hated how fake he was. I thought this was HILARIOUS that he was finally caught on tape for the fake douche bag he is.
This is probably the most anticipated fight in the UFC since all the hype over a fight that never happened in Silva/GSP.

I don't know, that bulldog choke on the prelims Saturday night by the one woman (can't remember her name) was pretty sweet.bigdaddy2003;1684202 wrote:Yeah, outside of Ronda, I don't care for women's mma at all.

this. i think he needs to just go full asshole and not put on the nice guy act. CM Punk can give him some mic work pointers now.jmog;1684207 wrote:I have always been a fan of Jones the fighter but hated how fake he was. The best part of that video is when they were both told they were still "live" and Jones' face with that 'oh shit' look and Cormier laughing at him for being "caught".Raw Dawgin' it;1684233 wrote:this. i think he needs to just go full asshole and not put on the nice guy act. The can flat out fight! Most of their fights IMO end up being a heck of a lot more action packed then most of the male fights. They just lack the big power.

This weekend there are a ton of great fights. That Fox show on saturday could be a PPV, even the prelims have a lot of really good fighters and prospects. Olympian Henry Cejudo makes his debut this weekend on that card. I like a lot of the fights on Friday's card as well. Charles Oliveira vs Jeremy Stephens, KJ Noons vs Daron Cruickshank, Joe Proctor vs Yancy Madeiros and all of the women's fights including the innagural title fight at 115 pounds. That main card on the FOX show is gonna be incredible.

Joe Rogan just blasted Brendan Schaub on his podcast face to face with Bryan Callen. Basically said a lot of truths but it was incredibly cold and to the point, not sure that is the forum to do that.

To each their own in regards to women's mma I guess.
What else is on the Fox card that makes it so good? I haven't looked at it. I just heard them say it was the best one yet and I can't agree based on the two fights I know.

Mitrione vs Gabriel Gonzaga
Reem vs Struve
Nate Diaz vs Dos Anjos
Miocic vs JDS
John Moraga who is one of the best Flyweight in the world fights, Derek Brunson vs Ed Herman, straw weight title eliminator fight, Ben Saunders vs Joe Riggs, Jamie Varner fights, Joe Ellenberger, debut of Olympic Gold medalist Henry Cejudo. All of that for free on fox, I would pay for that on ppv.

Wow, just listened to that. Agreed a podcast is not exactly the right spot for that, but he was being totally honest and coming from a good place. Brendan, like most fighters has serious irrational confidence, and can't be objective at all when evaluating their own skills. Add to it he was lifelong football player before MMA, including playing fullback for Colorado. On the brain trauma risk scale, he is about as high as it gets.robj55;1684255 wrote:Joe Rogan just blasted Brendan Schaub on his podcast face to face with Bryan Callen. Joe- How do you think you'd do in a wrestling match with Cain?
Brendan- I think people would be surprised
Joe- I think you'd be surprised, he'd f--- you up

Yeah he basically told him that you aren't elite and I can't see you beating any elite fighters outside of catching them with something lucky.Zoltan;1684425 wrote:Wow, just listened to that. I think he's trying to say if your not going to achieve your goal of being champion. Is it really worth getting KOed a few more times for the money. He's trying to be a friend and stop him from taking to many shots to the head but yeah wrong place for it.

Although I could see the arguement that it's the one place he could say it because he couldn't really just get up and walk out during the podcast or have other people be yes man telling Schaub he does have it.

Yeah I see that point of view, but if only truly elite guys fought there would be only a handful in each division. I know he is Brendan's friend but Schaub has every right to pursue his dream. Like Schaub said not everyone has 20 million in the bank like you Joe.sportchampps;1684576 wrote:I think he's trying to say if your not going to achieve your goal of being champion. Yep, but that is what Rogan is saying basically. It's not worth it to be a card filler type with the economic and health realities of being an MMA fighter. If you can't spot the sucker, you are probably it.robj55;1684584 wrote:Yeah I see that point of view, but if only truly elite guys fought there would be only a handful in each division. Also, Rogan has been getting seriously into brain trauma, and had guests on his podcasts talking about it. He admitted it may drive him to quit commentating on MMA because he can't view fights the same way. With just Schaub's football background he is probably in trouble. The MMA stuff just puts it over the top. Schaub and Callen had Mitrione on a month or so ago, and Mitrione said the main topic at his Purdue football reunions is how guys are already having memory issues, etc. It's a tough reality to face.

My take is this - guys go into the sport knowing the risk. The sport should do everything it can to keep these guys safe, but at the end of the day your job is to knockout or submit another person. It's impossible to participate in MMA or football and not leave with a lingering injury IMO.Zoltan;1684643 wrote:Yep, but that is what Rogan is saying basically.
