Smokescreen. Or it fucking better be. I'll lose my mind if the browns take him. IF YOU HAVE TO pick a QB. It better fucking be griffin!

Since the Saints do not have a 1st rounder this year, and the talk is that the Saints will be punished worse than the Pats for spygate, it was suggested that the league should take away their franchise tag this year.....that would make Brees avaiable to the highest bidder.....not saying we would go for him but it would turn this whole QB situation/draft/Peyton Manning situation on its ear

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/02/league-should-consider-taking-saints-franchise-tag/

Also they think they are willing to let their Pro Bowl guard Nicks go http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/02/nicks-hasnt-gotten-an-offer-yet/

Sounds like a good idea. But don't you have to use the franchise tag I like the next few days. No way the nfl makes a ruling that fast.

Deadline is Monday, and then they can still work out a long term deal until July 16th after that it has to be the 1 year deal i think....and i agree it wont happen this quickly but it would sure throw a wrench into a lot of scenarios if it did happen.....

Ordinarily at this time of year I would immediately think "smoke screen", but from everything we know about this regime and what they are looking for in players I think they would love to find a way to get him.

It makes too much sense. They bring in almost exclusively west coast guys when they get the chance, and Tannehill learned it under one of the Holmgren tree in Mike Sherman.

The fans (myself included) want RHIII, but I think if Shurmur/Holmgren had their druthers they would rather someone like Tannehill who has good physical tools for their system and has experience running it.

Why in the world has every other team in the NFL (especially expansion teams) figured it out and improved themselves and become playoff contenders (see Texans, Jaguars, Panthers, et al)? Have complete idiots been running the show since we got this franchise? I have just about lost all patience with this team.

Someone needs to explain to me how Tannehill is better than Colt McCoy. Kellen Moore is better than Tannehill for God sake.

"Another reason for the frustration with Little’s drops are the fact that when
he did get the ball in his hands, he usually did a nice job of making people
miss. His 17 missed tackles forced ranked #1 overall for NFL wide receivers. In
fact, Greg Little had the same number of forced missed tackles as running backs
Ray Rice and Darren Sproles. This number is even more eye-popping when you
consider the fact that Ray Rice and Darren Sproles touched the ball on offense
414 and 205 times respectively, compared to just 64 touches (61 catches, 3
carries) for Greg Little. Of course, there are other things to consider such as
how Little is forcing missed tackles on less able cornerbacks/safeties but it’s
thought-provoking nonetheless."

I'm sure BR could make a case that anyone is better than McCoy

Actually I have stated that I think Tannehill is potentially Derek Anderson Jr but nice try. BTW....it's 12:26pm and McCoy STILL sucks.

Tannehil's career completion percentage was a puny 63% in a relatively easy defensive conference. Not even close to McCoy. In addition, Tannehill and A&M played only 2 teams with a good defense last season. The result? Against Oklahoma and and Texas, Tannehill completed a putrid 46% of his passes, 6 of which were picked off.

There are 6 quarterbacks that are better than this guy in this year's draft. For him to travel up the mock boards like this has to do with crooked touts like Kuiper, who must be getting their pockets lined behind the scenes.

Weird , that is exactly the same # of QB's that were picked before Tom Brady was. hmmm

The third article is especially interesting. Highly doubtful it happens but what if Goodell investigates Gregg Williams back that far and decides to take the Redskins 1st rounder this year?[/QUOTE]

That would be ideal, any help we can get.

I really want RG3 but I fear that the Skins offer is just going to be too much for the Rams to pass

If you look at the first article, I really don't think it's going to cost "the farm" to get him. The Browns are in the drivers seat IF they want him. Now the questions are whether they do and how much they are willing to bid. I don't think it's going to be multiple 1sts. According to that article, they aren't willing to part with the 22 yet.

I hope it happens. Goodell might be cranky enough to do it too. If it happens, the Browns definitely will be in position to get RG3, and it won't be as much, because I don't think any other team was willing to be as dumb as the redskins and give up as much as they were going to give up.

Another good point was brought up. If the league starts investigating the Skins, would the Rams be reluctant to deal with them for 2013 high draft choices if the Skins could eventually have to forfeit them if an investigation hasn't been completed? For instance, if WASH offers a 1st & a 2nd this year along a 1st & 3rd next year, could they have to forfeit next years 1st?
