Another good point was brought up. If the league starts investigating the Skins, would the Rams be reluctant to deal with them for 2013 high draft choices if the Skins could eventually have to forfeit them if an investigation hasn't been completed? For instance, if WASH offers a 1st & a 2nd this year along a 1st & 3rd next year, could they have to forfeit next years 1st?
If washington has their pick forfeited, we would be in the drivers seat for the trade. From that article you posted though, we don't want to give up our other first rounder and I could see that being a problem. I really think that if washington loses their first rounder, and no other team wants to trade up that far(the two surprise teams they are talking too), that we could get RG3 at pick 4 and still keep our 2nd first. Best case scenario, and the fans would be ignited. Plus, it doesn't hurt that my season ticket purchase would be well warranted:laugh:

Now the questions are whether they do and how much they are willing to bid. I don't think it's going to be multiple 1sts. According to that article, they aren't willing to part with the 22 yet.

This is what worries me. Doesnt the Skins offer already include multiple 1st rounders?

League sources tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the Redskins continue "to
rate as the frontrunner" to acquire the Rams' No. 2 pick, and that the Browns
are currently "unwilling" to part with their No. 22 pick.

The Redskins are reportedly willing to trade both their 2012
and 2013 first-round picks, but don't want to part with their 2012
second-rounder, which "isn’t acceptable to the Rams." The Dolphins reportedly
"aren't eager to do business with the Rams" after being spurned by coach Jeff
Fisher. There's also "no chance" of a trade with the Seahawks because the Rams
don't want to face Baylor's Robert Griffin III in the division. If the Browns
hold fast on not dealing their second first-round pick — their trump card on the
rest of the league in any potential trade — it's worth questioning if they were
ever serious about moving up to select RGIII.

I agree, IF they have to. If it comes down to this and the Browns DON'T pull the trigger, like the article says, they probably weren't all that interested in him to begin with. I think they are going to wait this out though. Would be nice to have the pick in place BEFORE free agency but I don't see it.

Well...it looks like Goodell will investigate the Skins and possibly the Bills...

With the NFL probing the Skins, the Browns are in good position. I can see the Dolphins and Seahawks getting Flynn and Manning. Hopefully the Skins lose their pick, or maybe the potential to lose their pick will shy the Rams away from dealing with them. I am glad H&H are staying put. Let everything play out, it might look like RG3 falls to us to begin with. Luck would finally fall on Cleveland's side if something like this happens.

Instead of stirring shit up in the Browns locker room, how about the PD stirs shit up with the skins. Come out with numerous reports that Goodell will be looking to take away the Skins first round pick.

I guess any look at the Skins picks could cause trade partners to look elsewhere but how likely is it that the picks in question would be under the knife? Is there precedent? I don't know personally.

If Goodell comes down hard on the Saints, the Rams might expect something similar to the Skins.

I understand this, I guess what I'm asking is is there a similar situation that has happened before, where the punishment was devaluing draft picks or could the other punishment be maybe say a fine or something else. In other words, is targeting the draft picks the leagues only option?

Heard the following names being connected to the Browns in free agency:

QB's

Matt Flynn
Jason Campbell
Kyle Orton
Josh Johnson

WR's

Robert Meachem
Pierre Garcon
Mario Manningham
Danny Amendola
Mark Clayton
Laurent Robinson

RB's

Michael Bush
BenJarvis Green-Ellis

If a trade for the #2 pick were to happen BEFORE free agency, it's likely it wouldn't be with the Browns. Talks with the Rams are supposedly very preliminary.

I don't think Manningham will be an option, personally.

Fingers crossed we sign Michael Bush, Carl Nicks and some capable receivers whoever they may be.

5. I think I had this reaction to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report Sunday that the Browns are balking at including their second first-round pick, No. 22 overall, in a trade for the No. 2 overall pick: Let the posturing begin. Cleveland can't seriously think RG3 can be had for anything less than two first-round picks and at least two additional picks or an additional pick and a player.

Now, if the Browns are talking about a one this year, a one next year, a two this year and something else, that's a good starting point. Just remember -- in 1998, the Chargers moved up one spot, from three to two, in the first round by dealing two ones, a two, a three and a Pro Bowl running back. Ryan Leaf was talented with baggage. Griffin is talented with no baggage.

No fuckin thanks on that.

The Rams are crazy if they think they're going to get that kind of deal. And the Browns would be crazy if they said anything other than "fuck you" to the Rams, unless they're willing to go only w/ #22 and swap #2 and #4.

Peter King is on fucking crack. Unless the Browns panic, there's a good chance the price tag goes down. You're right in that 4 & 22 should do it. They may have to throw in a 4th rounder but I'd think that would be about it.

Hell, they may not even have to worry about Washington as competition as I'm getting the feeling this "bounty-gate" with Gregg Williams will shake out before the draft. There's an outside chance that Washington may not even be sitting with a 1st rounder.

I'd even say no to the 4th rounder addition. The Browns need as many draft picks as possible, and you can get good value in the 4th round.

I don't really care what happened in 1998 or with Eli Manning/Philip Rivers...giving up your #22 pick is enough to move up 2 spots, especially if no one else is willing to give anything better.

If it's the 22 & 118 (both acquired in the Julio Jones trade) I just look at it as a gift from Atlanta. Anything more is a bit ridiculous.

I'll be very interested with the Peyton Manning throwing video emerging over the weekend how that plays out in Indy.

He actually looked pretty good in that video. I think he will bounce back and gave a Peyton type year
