Can play this ALL day (can't read a defense, piss poor decisions). Just throws it up for grabs...Pick6;1101604 wrote:just because he doesnt have shit to throw to that can get open doesnt mean he cant throw a deep ball.

Yeah, thought about that after I posted and was headed for work. College and the pros are a BIG difference. WR's running wide open and free ALL day long. Doesn't happen in the pros. Have to be able to anticipate and throw into windows. Also have to lead receivers, in stride, on a deep ball, not make them sit and wait.Skyhook79;1101630 wrote:Ryan Leaf was good in College too.

Now it's very possible that RG3 has similar issues (anticipation, etc) but I doubt he'll have issues fitting the ball into windows or throwing it deep.
That being said, the more & more the days go on, the less & less I think he (Griffin) ends up a Brown. I don't think it will be for lack of trying. I just think that WASH is ready to outbid anyone, at any cost. My worst nightmare is that we are going to be STUCK watching Linguini Arm under center another year.

I am really against drafting a QB that high, not too many have panned out. I would much rather spend some money on a Free agent and draft a QB in the later rounds. Matt Flynn could be that guy.BR1986FB;1101642 wrote:Yeah, thought about that after I posted and was headed for work. College and the pros are a BIG difference. I'm just skeptical that Flynn will be much of an upgrade over McCoy.

With this one, at least a WR was right there. Still a horrible throw, but McCoy made worse throughout the season lol.BR1986FB;1101620 wrote:Can play this ALL day (can't read a defense, piss poor decisions). Just throws it up for grabs...

So are most people I believe. While I think Flynn has better anticipatory throws and accuracy, he still lacks the physical skills required (IMO) to be successful in the AFC north.BR1986FB;1101650 wrote:I'm just skeptical that Flynn will be much of an upgrade over McCoy.

Green Bay has had a pretty good track record with back-ups coming in and doing very well in the NFL.BR1986FB;1101650 wrote:I'm just skeptical that Flynn will be much of an upgrade over McCoy.
Majikowski/Favre/Rodgers/Flynn????
I think it's worth a shot.

I don't want someone that, when surrounded by weapons, might get the team to 8-8, 9-7. No guaranteeing that Griffin is that guy but I'd rather have someone in there that gives the fans hope.
I wouldn't expect RG3 to light it up in his first year but by year 2 he'd better know what he's doing.
For all of those saying "if RG3 busts it will set the franchise back" (bullshit because they are already ROCK BOTTOM), I say that "staying the course with McCoy" will, in their terminology, "set the franchise back at least 2 years." Reason being, you surround McCoy with weapons, he inevitably shows he's not "the guy" which leaves you drafting another QB in 2013 (unless they grab a rookie this year and he starts the second half of the season). Well, if that guy is the starter in 2013, he's likely not going to light it up as a rookie and you're looking at 2014 before you have progress at the position.
I'd rather bite the bullet, let a rookie take his lumps THIS year, and be ready to go in 2013.

Not surprised the sarcasm went over your head. Aren't you a Bengals fan? Why don't you dig up the Bengals thread that is probably on page 30 by now, and start discussing your team?said_hook;1101739 wrote:Try not to.

Because you can only post on Browns threads if you are either from Cleveland or live in Cleveland or have other close ties that are approved by like_that.like_that;1101757 wrote:Not surprised the sarcasm went over your head. I didnt start this. Shook said "McCoy cant complete a pass down field and you know it". I posted a link and proved him wrong. I never McCoy doesnt make bad decisions, or has trouble reading defenses(which all young QBs in the NFl have to adjust to).BR1986FB;1101620 wrote:Can play this ALL day (can't read a defense, piss poor decisions). Don't remember ever claiming to be a Bengals fans, although I have commented my dislike for their owner.
As for teams I like- Green Bay. Was born in Milwaukee. grew up watching Favre. Also like the idea of a community owned team. Enjoyed watching Indy with Manning as QB. Even more so when gonzo was catching the ball. I watch St Louis, too. Quite a few tOSU players on that team.
Always said my favorite NFL player was Robert Smith.
