Unless someone is REALLY stupid, this should alleviate the "2nd round pick" talk...

Caplan reports that Gordon ran a 4.52 forty-yard dash after measuring in at 6-foot-3 1/8 and 224 pounds. Gordon recorded a 36-inch vertical leap with a 10-foot, 1-inch broad jump. He did 13 reps on the bench.

Yup, I am with you BR. A 4th rounder.

If so, I doubt he would instantly make the core that much better.
Oh I forgot little led the team in receptions and yards. and he sat out for a year. dude is going to be a stud for this team

That's not saying much lol. He also led in drops. He could be a fine piece for the future, but I can't see him instantly making an impact, especially with that 40 time.

It doesn't say when exactly it happened, but apparently Gordon pulled his quad during the workout. That 40 time could be misleading.

Just got home and saw that he pulled the quad when running the 4.52. He finished his workout and apparently didn't drop a pass. That forty time is faster than Rueben Randle's and Gordon weighs about 15 lbs more. Still would only offer a 4th.

true and he sat out a year. i think he will improve on that area this year. if gordon was here and was about to be a number 2 and he could stretch the field and open up some running lanes.

I don't think Gordon's speed will be a big issue to the Browns if they're interested. His size and ability to fight for balls might be more important for this WCO.

If I'm the organization and I truly like the guy and feel he can make a difference with Little and Benjamin, I'd offer a 3rd rounder.

Glad you're not the GM. Supplemental draft players rarely garner a 3rd (lol at raiders and pryor. Next highest offer I believe was a 5th, and one 6th). I'd be willing to gamble a 7th on a guy who hasn't played and doesn't have his head on straight. Also he pulled him hammy in his workout. Not a great sign IMO.

That draft worked different though right?

Yeah, I don't think it was blind. I was just kidding COA anyhow.

I'd still probably throw out a 4th for Gordon but listening to Ross Tucker this morning makes me believe it's probably going to take a 2nd. I could see a team in the back end of the 2nd (Patriots) tossing a draft pick in knowing a team like the Browns could use an early 3rd..

Sounds like RGIII is pushing Dan Snyder to go after Gordon in the Supplemental Draft. If they do, they will likely have to use a 2nd rounder which would mean no picks until the 3rd round of next years' draft for Washington.

Talking 2nd/3rd to get him, article talks about him being a better prospect than his former teammate Kendall Wright who the Browns coveted and just missed out in this years draft.

I say 3rd or less get him, 2nd round he's too much of a risk.

Reading about Gordon's blown hammy it was speculated that he would've been in the 4.4's had he not tweaked it on that 4.52 run. 4.4's for a 225 lb WR is flying.

Also rumored that if the Browns take Gordon they will turn around and trade him to the Redskins for their 2013 & 2014 drafts. :)

You have to take risks sometimes. Throw the 2nd or third at him and hope it pans out. Fuck it.

Do we have multiple 2nd or 3rds?

I don't care if we do or not. I still say you throw it at him. We need playmakers, and if he gets healthy and makes an impact, it's worth it.

I agree. I just couldn't remember what all picks we have for next season.
