Grossi also tweeted that some scouts had Gordon as a top 10 pick in 2013. Who's to say if that is accurate, but like others have said, if Heckert gave up a 2nd rounder for him, he must feel pretty strongly that the kid is a player.

Any thoughts on how the Brown's offense may look, are they looking to spread it out more this year with more WR's on the field ala New Orleans?

I think we may see them try to run a "Ben Roethlisberger/Joe Flacco Rookie WCO"....ride Richardson like a mule, play defense, try to keep it close and pick your shots downfield with a shorter ball control passing offense being their main air attack. I don't think they will have Weeden slinging it around the field a ton as a rook.

first scouting report that I found that talked about 'how' he caught the ball and how his hands were. he's very positive on Gordon at least:

Forced to leave the Utah program due to financial constraints. Attempted to transfer to Houston for the 2012 season but was told he would have to sit out the season due to NCAA regulations.

Positives: Tall, fluid pass catcher with tremendous upside potential. Plays with great balance as well as body control. Has large, soft hands and easily makes the reception in stride. Consistent hand catcher and extends to make the reception away from his frame.

LMAO...your boy, Dan Wolf from the National Football Authority is over on Facebook talking shit about how this is such a "bad" pick and how "in his four years of scouting WR's....?" He's not a SCOUT. He posts on a fucking blog. LOL

I am fired up about this move.

Everyone knew receiver was an issue, and they did something about it without having to waste another year until we could address it next draft.

We also give Weeden an extra year to develop chemistry with him, which is vital for a QB/WR.

We are going to take alot of lumps this year I suspect as far as growing pains, but finally there is a future to be excited about as we have young high ceiling guys are key offensive positions that can develop together and have a window of success that is more than a year or 2 hopefully.

We took a 2nd on Little. Now we took a 2nd on someone who is bigger and more of a jump-ball type guy. Totally down with that

I have been on board with adding offensive playmakers any and everywhere.

We may have overpaid today, but like the Weeden move I am fine with it because it upgrades the position as well as keeps us from being stuck in neutral all year waiting until next year.

Watching this team this year will not be the brutal experience it has been, because at least you know they will have guys that give us a chance out there on Sunday. That is all I ask after watching a team for 2 years that was defeated before even getting off the bus the past few years because we didn't have guys that could compete ability wise.

That has nothing to do with it. It was a POSITIVE post. We aren't accustomed to that. Make more... ;)

When they give me things to be positive about, I will be positive....like today.

I am planning to throw a party in this thread when Colt is no longer wearing a Browns jersey.

That will be the signal that we are truly ready to leave mediocrity behind.

It was definitely a reach and a desperate move. But I'm ok with it because it means they are trying to do something. I think I would have still rather them taken Randle or somebody with a like grade in the draft.

Hopefully it works out

Off topic, but I'm kinda doubtful we'll know how good Randle is anytime soon. He's now in an offense with Hicks and Cruz so I think almost anyone you plug at 3 is going to be pretty decent not having to worry about double teams. I only say this because I kind of wanted Randle, but I'm not going to think he's awesome just because he puts up good stats in that offense (and that's IF he puts up good stats).

It's possible he ends up being the "Cruz" of last season. You're right that he will probably be a product of the system, but I think I'd still want him.

The only thing the fans/media didn't pressure them into was signing a FA that was worth a shit. Not happy with this off season at all.

LOL you can do better than that. Not surprised you like the move though. We could have used a first rounder on a kicker and you would have been happy. You are the same guy who was stating you would be livid if the Browns drafted Weeden in the first (maybe even 2nd if I recall), but the day after the pick you have had Weeden's penis in your mouth.

I'm not even going to bother to respond to this. But we do need to fire heckertt over this move as the media and fans are obviously getting to him. I agree completely.
