I thought the Browns played the Colts.

If you're gonna randomly blurt out "troy smith sucks" i'm not able to point out he's better than any ND QB?

Shurmur was much more direct in his praise of Weeden’s performance during rookie minicamp.

“I think he’s extremely accurate,” he said. “His strong arm really showed up in this minicamp. There’s something natural about his play. He hadn’t really thrown to these receivers before and to be able to throw somewhat precise routes and be very accurate, that was good to see.

“He throws a very, very -- wow -- it’s a pretty ball. It’s easy for the receivers to catch, and some of the guys he was working with for the first time really performed extremely well because there’s synergy there when you get good quarterback play.”

All the local radio has been going on about how much more in love the coaches are with Weeden after seeing him up close and personal at rookie camp.

It sounds like seeing him throw finally crystallized for them how inadequate Colt was as a viable starting QB in the league. They saw Weeden making throws with accuracy 2 days into rookie camp that they weren't seeing from our QB's period.

They do and their closest lines are 1 point against the Bills and, I believe, 2 points against Washington and the home game against Cincinnati. No mention of the Colts game.

Okay, we get it. Our QB looks pretty good in rookie camp. Sweet

On the drive home I heard that the thing that was most impressive about Weeden was that he stayed up late with Josh Cooper and learned all of the play calls. Some of those play calls are ridiculously long and, I'd imagine, hard to memorize (terminology). Doesn't mean he'll be a star but he's picking up the terminology quickly.

Like I said before (about the media), it sounds like maybe the coaches (too) were taken aback by what a real NFL arm looks like?

Sorry if I missed this mentioned earlier, but they also signed RB Adonis Thomas.

If that's true, all of our coaches should be either taken out back and shot or fired immediately.

If our fucking NFL coaches don't know what an NFL arm looks like, god help us all

Yes, I will take any of you nut-hugging(and delusional) Browns fans bet that the Browns wont win 10 games and Weeden will not have a winning percentage as a quarterback in the NFL.

Also, Crimson. I THOUGHT he should have been the 49ers starting QB. Nothing more, nothing less. Also note the all-capitalized word.. THOUGHT. Now please go back to supporting a program that is affiliated with child molestors and led by a child killer.

Ok? You said that Troy smith should be the starting qb for the 49ers. That alone says it all

why was my post responding about the bet deleted?

I can understand why my response to Crimson was deleted, but why not all the other Troy Smith talk that they brought up deleted?

Anyways...I'll say it again.

I'll happily take any bet that involves the Browns going 10-6 this season (LOL), and Brandon Weeden having a winning record with the Browns (history shows thats very unlikely).

Sorry it took me a few hours to respond, I tend to have this thing called a life.

That's not what you said. You said better record than troy smith. Which I'll take. Name the terms.

That's exactly what he said. Now he's posting the low hanging fruit/potentially easy money bets which are likely in his favor.

Agreed. This thread has survived almost 350 pages, I think we are doing fine here. We don't need any mods holding our hands.
