Possibly. Depends on which way they go between him, Leftwich and Batch. Batch is the guy who's been in the system forever; not much of a player anymore, but can be a coach-on-the-sidelines/mentor kind of guy. Leftwich is the guy they wanted to be their back-up for a couple years, but he's always hurt. Smith is the guy who might replace one of those two...or might be left out in the cold, depending on how things work. But all three are currently on the roster, along with one-year guy Jerrod Johnson.BR1986FB;1170379 wrote:Think he's 3rd string on the Steelers depth chart?
Bizarrely, looking at their depth chart on Yahoo Sports, it goes Ben, Batch, Leftwich, Johnson...and Smith's not listed. Don't know if that's an oversight or what, as the rookie class has been included. Or it might mean that he's only around in case Leftwich immediately gets hurt again.

So he graduated from Ohio State in 2007, 5 years later he's still in the NFL. Not bad for a 5th round draft pick.BR1986FB;1170379 wrote:Think he's 3rd string on the Steelers depth chart?
I doubt Weeden is in the league for 5 years. He'll probably retire a year or two before his rookie contract ends after the Browns cut him.

Has a better record against the Steelers than most Browns qbs...
Had he not gotten that throat infection and started over Flacco that one year, who knows where he'd be right now.

Vegas line has the Browns over/under on wins at 4.5. Also think in the early lines of all 16 games the Browns are underdogs in all 16.

Browns released RB Armond Smith and added some LB from Idaho named Joey Jo-Jo Junior Shabadoo, or something like that.
