On radio or in the studio? Would have been funny if he was there live when they were doing that and knocked them out...which I'm sure he could do pretty easily.

Just came across as really sarcastic, I guess, asking questions like...

Did we wake you?
Do we need to wake you up for practices?

Sounded like Kiley was definitely exressing that he didn't like the pick.

I didn't like the pick (where he was picked) necessarily myself but it sounded like they were (shocker) very unprofessional. No wonder Holmgren won't have anything to do with them (92.3).

Sounds like Tony Rizzo wants to bring back Braylon Scissorhands...

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/25355/2012-nfl-draft-did-the-browns-blow-it

Additionally, Weeden played in probably the best pass-first system in college football — and maybe all of football, including the NFL. The offense traces its roots back to the one designed by Mike Leach, but Oklahoma State and Weeden's version was installed before the 2010 season, Weeden's first as a starter, by Dana Holgorsen. That system has produced lots of prolific passers who didn't go on to great NFL careers — and Weeden also happened to throw a lot of his passes to fifth overall pick Justin Blackmon — so there's always the worry that Weeden won't be able to replicate his prior success.

But none of the other quarterbacks from that offense had arms like Weeden's. And in any event, Oklahoma State's system, which operated at a breakneck pace and required him to not only make complicated reads after the snap but often combined runs and passes into the same play, required Weeden to make more decisions about what to do with the football on a down-to-down basis than any other quarterback in the draft.

And if Weeden was a "system quarterback," he was a very rare breed: one who not only learned the system but taught it himself. When Holgorsen left to coach at West Virginia, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy actually asked Weeden to give input on who should be hired to run the Cowboys' attack. Once Todd Monken was brought in, he and Weeden held cram sessions, but it was Monken doing the learning. The results speak for themselves: Oklahoma State got even better: scoring more points, averaging more yards, and winning more games, including a Fiesta Bowl shootout with first overall pick Andrew Luck.

Would Braylon Edwards ever be welcomed back to Cleveland? If the Browns signed him to a small contract, how would you feel about it? Mary Kay commented about it and said "No" and that it would be a disaster.

I'd take Hitler on this team, as long as Hitler can be a good WR for us.

I didn't like Braylon when he was with the Browns, I don't like him now, and I wouldn't start liking him if he came back.

That being said, if he turns out to be a great pickup I'm all for it. I can just see him causing a problem though. Probably would come in thinking he is the automatic #1 and acting as such.

Well when one of the biggest issue with the Browns' receivers was dropping the ball, I'm not sure getting Braylon would help.

[h=3]Browns to add another QB?[/h]1:51PM ET
[h=5]Cleveland Browns[/h]

The Colt McCoy trade rumors seem to have died down after a tense weekend of speculation, but that doesn't mean that the Cleveland Browns are finished addressing the QB position. Specifically, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer believes that the team may look to find a veteran QB mentor for Brandon Weeden amongst the available free agents.
Cabot writes that McCoy himself benefited from having Jake Delhomme on the roster to show him the ropes in 2010, something that was evident in absentia in 2011, with Seneca Wallace not willing to be much of a mentor to the Texas product. While McCoy's future with the club remains in question, Cabot believes that Wallace could be released in the near future, as the team can save nearly all of the Iowa St. product's $2.4 million off the salary cap by cutting him.
As for the player that they would add after releasing Wallace, A.J. Feeley is one option, as he played that role for Browns HC Pat Shurmur when the coach was St. Louis Rams OC, and needed a mentor for Sam Bradford. Delhomme is also available, but there have been rumors that he is pondering retirement.
Meanwhile, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter wonders whether the Browns' selection of Weeden at No. 22 overall was a good choice, value-wise:
- Tim Kavanagh
[h=5]Adam Schefter[/h]They could've gotten him later
"We'll never know now, but I think Weeden would have been there for them at 37. The issue was, my strong belief is that the Browns would have liked Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright at No. 22, and when he went at No. 20 to Tennessee, Cleveland lost out on another player, just as it had lost out on the potential trade for Robert Griffin III. The Browns didn't want to lose out on another player, so they used the No. 22 pick on Weeden. I would have liked to have seen them trade out of 22 -- with so many of the teams around that spot trading out -- have gotten back more picks and picked Weeden then. Of course it's easy for me to say that now, on Monday morning, when I'm not on the clock, with the seconds melting away. But here's the bottom line: If Weeden is a stud quarterback, it doesn't matter where the Browns got him, just as it doesn't matter what they gave up to trade up for Richardson. If Richardson and Weeden become standouts, then Cleveland succeeded. If they don't, the Browns are in trouble."
I wouldn't say they're in trouble if they don't pan out. Because they'd just be where we are now. It'd just mean nothing changed.

Basking and Phelps just had Seneca on. He was impressive. Basically shot down and clarified the whole notion that he easy unwilling to help Colt. I'm sure no one on here will believe him but he impressed me.

I may be wrong on this but wasn't Wallace interviewed where he said "that's not my thing...I'm trying to win the job" when asked about mentoring McCoy last year? Unless I've lost my mind I'm pretty sure I heard that sound bite.

Here's the interview...

Pretty sure he did.

The following is likely what happened:

(A) He didn't like Colt.
(B) He realized he is never going to be a starting QB, because he isn't good enough, and he is a selfish POS (see Ravens game), so why not save his current well paying job by being helpful to the new rookie?
(C) All of the above

Yep. He sounded like he completely changed his attitude. Maybe he had a talk with H & H and realized he's making 3 million so he better suck it up and be a mentor. Because he flat out said his job this year is to get Weeden ready to play.

Well...if it's true it's a good thing. Wallace knows the WCO like the back of his hand. Just isn't very good at running it.
