I pretty much nailed it on Haden, Ward, Hardesty/Tate, and Lauvao. I completely overrated the later part of the draft though, even though those rankings are relative to when they were taken.

I think I'll post another one of those later for this year, just for funsies. It should be a good way to get some people's panties in a bunch.
Other than last year, the Browns have drafted poorly. Duh.

Mulva;1156408 wrote:Would you rank the Browns draft ahead of anyone else in the division?

I'm not going to go through and rank every draft 1-32, but if I did the Browns would probably fall in the bottom 10. They did better in the later rounds, but the early rounds are way more important and weighed much more heavily.
It's all relative to how these guys perform. Like I said, we didn't have a great draft. But getting Richardson, a QB, and quality RT make it at least a "good" draft.

I guess for some perspective, I think most teams' drafts are decent at worst, because it takes a lot to really f*ck up, and we didn't do that, at least I hope not

Haha, I mean we still have to go through the UDFA process and UFA's still available. Dane Sanzenbacher and Doug Baldwin were pretty solid UDFAs.

I completely agree with Matt Miller from NFL Draft Scout:
NFL overreacted to Arian Foster's hamstring and character. They're doing the same with Chris Polk's shoulder/hip--played two years w/o issue
Definitely a risk, but talent-wise I think he's the #2 running back in the draft.

Also, if anyone was wondering, Cam Johnson fell because of sickle cell and Chase Minnifield because of his knee concerns.

And I forgot Mike Brewster existed. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been drafted too.

Benjamin was a big-play threat at Miami for several years. Initially an electric return specialist, he eventually became an effective pass-catching option. He is undersized but fast enough to get past safeties, and has the route-running savvy to outwork corners, create separation and make plays. His size might limit his pro potential, but many receivers of his stature have succeeded in the NFL. Benjamin has third- to fourth-round value.

Analysis Strengths

Benjamin understands how to get open at the top of routes and can use his explosiveness to his advantage. As a returner, he is a "one cut and go" runner who can break for daylight. The key to his game as a receiver is his ability to get open, and he doesn't shy away from contact. He will be a true deep threat who runs crisp intermediate routes.
His punt return to the house vs. the Bucks was very Cribbsesque.

Man, with their draft and FA signings, Tampa Bay could be a scary team is their coach is at least semi-knowledgeable...

Tampa and Buffalo look like the 2 most improved teams to me. Although I don't like Fitzpatrick.

I'm ok with this draft other than weeden and Hughes. Weeden really ruined it for me though.

I hoping some combo of Jeff Fuller/Dwight Jones, Cliff Harris/Minnifield/Leonard Johnson, or Burfict with these last 2 picks.

Dennard definitely screwed up. But I don't think he's had any trouble prior to that event. Sounds like he got hammered at the bar, got into a fight outside with a heckler, and accidentally punched a cop in the cheek when the cop tried breaking the scuffle up. He's looking at a felony but will probably just pay a steep fine since he's never been in trouble before. If so, it was an absolute steal for NE in the 7th Rd. Even if he serves time or continues to screw up it's worth the gamble with a 7th rd. pick.

Ah Wildcat on the Browns!! Nice. Wade's pretty solid. Surrounded by a pretty terrible defense, but he's fluid.

Wade is nice value in the 7th. I would have rather had other corners, but he's a guy that could have gone off the board 2 or 3 rounds ago. His 40 times are questionable, but I think he'll make the roster at minimum.

NFL.com said he could go as high as round 2, probably a 4th-5th round talent. But he had a pretty good year, even if not so much statistically.

Reports are Browns signed WR Josh Cooper from Oklahoma State as an UDFA.
