I'm not so sure (now) that Weeden would've been there at 28-32. Belichick said he would've taken him. Why? I have no idea with Hoyer & Mallet already in the fold.IggyPride00;1154816 wrote:I made this exact post before Tennessee drafted Wright, as I didn't see that coming, and we knew that he wasn't going at 21.
I thought Weeden would be there from 28-32, and the Browns could have gotten back into get him.
People are underestimating the impact on the fan base having a new set of triplets will have as far as giving us hope going forward. On Sunday's we won't go into game now knowing that it's over if we fall behind 7-0 because our offense can't move the ball.
I agree on the offense. They get a WR @ 37, come back and get a RT along with a later WR and this offense is going to look VERY different.

I dont care about being fair. BooHoo if McCoy QQs, its his own fault for not winning more games. Bottom line I think he's a better back up QB than Wallace so we should keep him.BR1986FB;1154822 wrote:Pretty much have to do it. After the concussion, his daddy coming to his rescue, the botched RG3 trade only to come back and say 'Colt's our guy"...then to use a 1st rounder on a QB? It's really the only fair thing to do for McCoy at this point. Can't say the guy was dealt the best hand, personnel-wise, but you gotta make the most of your opportunities.

I think you'll see him be more active after the draft when more roster cuts come. I'm a bit more optimistic going into this season than I was 24 hours ago.IggyPride00;1154823 wrote:Heckert should seriously consider bringing back Steinbach if he is healthy now that we have a new QB & RB. Draft a RT somewhere and a WR at 37, and suddenly we have a really solid offense and playmakers at the skill positions with a QB who can get them the ball. We have the money, make it happen.

I agree with that. Wallace can GTFO. I still see them going after another late/project QB unless they are rolling with Thad Lewis as the 3rd stringer. Wallace is a piece o' dung.Commander of Awesome;1154826 wrote:I dont care about being fair. BooHoo if McCoy QQs, its his own fault for not winning more games. Exactly, esp with everything coming otu about him being a POS in the locker room and his little antics during the Ravens game. No thanks, get that POS away from my team. Back up QB single handedly cost us a game.BR1986FB;1154833 wrote:I agree with that. Wallace can GTFO. Bottom line until they actually ARE active they're not doing shit to help this franchise.

I can't wait until Richardson runs over Lewis and Harrison this season when they try and stand him up at the goal line as he is going in for another touchdown. They will put up a statue of him in this city.

By "active" I don't mean Washington Redskins "active" but certainly more than Frostee Rucker/Jaqua Parker active.SportsAndLady;1154836 wrote:How many times are we gonna hear h&h are going to be active????

If they draft 5th and there are two target WR on the board, why do they need to trade up?

Right and that simply isn't going to happen...this entire franchise is stuck on drafting 2nd-3rd round prospects and hope they pan out because they're not going to improve the team any other way.
No trades no free agency no top coaches brought in. Just take a bunch of 2nd-3rd round qbs and WRs and hope they pan out. Lol such a joke

I'm sorry, but the last part of your post is simply just idiotic. First of all I don't see where the excitement with the fan base is. If anything it's 70% against the pick 30% for the pick.
You of all people should know Cleveland fans are the best and most loyal fans in the league. You don't need to make knee jerk picks, for the fucking fanbase. Heckert panicked and picked a player because he is worried about idiots like you QQing and not being a fan anymore. If you don't want to be a fan anymore then fuck off, because i rather have picks that are good for the team, not picks that will satisfy the old desperate cry baby fans. That's the approach he should have taken. Instead he shit down his leg with a fat POS walrus breathing down his neck. The worst part is holmgren probably pressured him into that pick, and the fucker might be stepping down. He shit on the franchise, took his paycheck, and will probably leave. Fuck that guy.
If this doesn't work out (i highly doubt it will) it's time for Lerner to sell the franchise to somebody who actually knows how to run a fucking team.

Because all of a sudden there is a premium on wide outs in the second round and no other positions are worthy of being drafted now.Skyhook79;1154849 wrote:Other teams trading up?

They may not need to. The Rams would be the most likely to go after a WR but it's speculated that they will grab Cordy Glenn. After that, no real WR needs for any of those in front of them. Only reason for a trade up is if they want to guarantee they get their guy like they did with Richardson.Sonofanump;1154848 wrote:If they draft 5th and there are two target WR on the board, why do they need to trade up?

and Randle. So that's three players that will be taken in four picks in the great WR run in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft.Skyhook79;1154857 wrote:When wideouts like Hill and Jeffery's are still available ,yes.

But if you want 1 receiver in particular (like they wanted Richardson) say Hill then you want to ensure that you get him. I am not saying they are or should trade up just giving possible reasons why they would.Sonofanump;1154870 wrote:and Randle. Exactly. Whether the Richardson trade up was a bluff by Minny or Spielman & Heckert are really buddies and he gave Heckert the true 411 on what Tampa was offering, Heckert didn't mess around. He went & got his guy. If they have Hill or Randle rated as the BPA on their board I could see them doing the same so they KNOW they've got their guy.Skyhook79;1154878 wrote:But if you want 1 receiver in particular (like they wanted Richardson) say Hill then you want to ensure that you get him. I don't think that 3 receivers will be taken before the Browns pick in the 2nd. I think either the Colts or Broncos may go either Fleener or defense. Andre Branch is still on the board that teams like as a rusher, Devon Still, Worthy and Brandon Thompson are still available who could've went in the 1st. And then you have LBS like Upshaw, LaVonte David, and Zach Brown. So there are still some good defensive players on the board for teams before the Browns pick. And OL like Adams, Martin, Mosely and Glenn are there. I think it would be tempting to take Upshaw or David if they are there with the 5th pick.

COA, what do you think of Stephen Hill? Obviously not that polished, but I love his blocking ability as a WR.

I would be happy if the Browns took Upshaw, then traded up to assure they get one of the top 3 WRs left. Then take another WR in a later round (Posey, Broyles, Hilton, Page, etc)
