Sounds like Colt McCoy yet he just "deserves" a "chance."

I love how EVERYONE else is horseshit because they played in a shotgun/spread offense except for McCoy (not singling you out, hoops...just seems to be everyones "go to" excuse when bashing one of these QB's....he deserves to be surrounded with weapons and given a chance? Funny how facts about him (same offense) are omitted to suit ones argument in support of him. If they are going to throw a QB from a spread system out there, at least put someone with the physical tools (height, arm strength, can make all of the throws, etc) out there.

Yep, Weeden looked like crap in that ONE COLLEGE game that you posted. I could post shitty PROFESSIONAL performances by McCoy all day to suit my argument but what's the point?

And can we stop the Russell Fucking Wilson crap? Dude makes Colt McCoy look like Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He's like 5'10" (from what scouts are saying even though he's listed a 6 foot) and that might be generous. Don't care how tall his O-Line was. He's going to have issues finding throwing lanes. So sick & tired of seeing midget QB's get balls batted down.

They were competitive in most of their games, and honestly they should have won at least half or a bit more of those games (bengals 2x, rams, steelers, cards). Now all of a sudden this team is going to be lucky to get 1 win next season?
And they also had one of the easier schedules last year. Just because they lost 8 games by 7 points are less against the "Ohio Truck & Diesels" of the world doesn't mean they are going to improve on last years record by facing a tougher schedule (better QB's) this year.

You mean those same bubble screens that helped give McCoy a 70% completion rate in college and gave the world the illusion that he was "accurate?"

Have you ever seen me praise McCoy? I just don't think weeden is an upgrade. Desperation to get another qb is making these guys look better than they are

No, actually I haven't seen you defend McCoy but if the bubble screen excuse is going to be used for not drafting a QB I don't think we'd see too many drafted. Hell, I think even Stanford's offense throws in some bubble screens.

I'm SOOOO tired of this shit (not you, draft talk). Can we just fast forward to next Thursday? The coming week is probably going to be unbearable.

Heckert has a press conference this morning to discuss the draft at 10am. Can't imagine getting any valuable insight from that.

I take beatdowns like the best of them

And you won't sit in the bleachers, you're afraid of sports stadiums apparently

I think it's just the Browns Stadium which anyone could have good reasons to not want to go to.

This is what I don't get. Just because I don't want to draft a 29 year old QB, because 1. I think he sucks ass and 2. he is old, doesn't mean I am all about McCoy. I don't think you are understanding that logic. The people who aren't for drafting a QB is because they don't think there is any value at QB in the draft after Luck/RGIII. Especially for the first 3 rounds.

We all know McCoy isn't that guy, but no one in the draft is going to be that much of an improvement where we could even tell a difference between McCoy and (insert overrated drafted QB). So, why waste high value picks when we can add talent for whoever our QB will be in the future, whether it is McCoy (if he somehow turns it around...doubtful), or somebody we draft next year who is actually worth a shit? You need to stop falling back on the McCoy argument.

Half of the Browns' games were played against playoff teams, and throw in a couple teams who were very close to making the playoffs (Titans, Cards, and Raiders). That isn't quite as easy as you are making it out to be.

Also those 8 games by 7 points or less were mostly to playoff teams, soo.....

I guess what I've been trying to say is "think like a GM or like Holmgren." In a perfect world, yes...they ride out McCoy, take their 13-14 losses and draft a QB high next year but I don't think these guys have that luxury.

Ok...so McCoy is not the guy? You're telling me these guys are going to be comfortable going into year 3 with McCoy as the QB knowing that if they are THAT bad there may not be a year 4?

Whether I want Weeden, Tannehill (I don't), etc or whether you want to stay the course and take your lumps with McCoy really doesn't mean shit. It's the front office's mindset that counts. Do they feel they need to get someone NOW (which I think they do/will) or DO they have some handshake deal in place with Lerner that if they are worse than last year he'll give them a pass?

There's already been an uproar/groundswell by many to get rid of this regime. H&H haven't buckled to fan opinion but do you really think Randy Lerner won't? If this team goes 2-14 with all of the negativity that will be flying do you REALLY think Lerner will "stay the course?" I don't.

I just think they aren't just going to hand the keys to McCoy and say "you're our guy." Everything this offseason has indicated the opposite (attempts to trade up for both RG3 & Luck). They are going to bring in SOMEONE to compete with him and it's not going to be some CFL ham & egger like Kellen Moore or Russell Wilson.

Hopefully the Browns front office take your advice and ignore what fans think.

Lot of Ifs, speculation, and conspiracy theory in your claim BR. I for one don't buy it, sounds like cleveland radio bs to me TBH.

Not at all. Seriously...if they come out and regress for a THIRD year in a row on Holmgren's watch, how secure do you think their jobs will be? If, hypothetically, they go "0-fer" 2012 you think Lerner is going to stay the course again? That's got nothing to do with conspiracy theory. You don't perform in the real world, you lose your job.

BR you're getting ahead of yourself. This team will not go 0fer (you're the only one who thinks they will that I've seen on here), and I dont care if its Lombardi coaching the team. You go 0fer in this league and youre fired. I dont care what "wink nod" deal you have in place.
