that is the thing....I am all for getting a qb, but Weeden and Tannehill are just reaches because people are desperate. Put the weapons in place and if colt fails, go after the qb next year. It sucks to worry about next year, but only so many holes can get filled with a team this bad.DeyDurkie5;1147405 wrote:we've got one

I can't wait for mccoy to dominate just to shut everyone up.wes_mantooth;1147407 wrote:that is the thing....I am all for getting a qb, but Weeden and Tannehill are just reaches because people are desperate. Yes we do, but we are not going to get that QB this draft, that's for sure.BR1986FB;1147404 wrote:Need a QB

I will love it if you are right...i have my doubts though. But I want to see him have the weapons to at least give him a shot. Heard Rizzo say today that the Browns lost 8 games by 7 points or less last year. Some weapons here and there and they should be competitive soon.DeyDurkie5;1147409 wrote:I can't wait for mccoy to dominate just to shut everyone up.

Even the games they lost by more than 7 most of them we were competitive in, and that's without an offensive line, healthy RB, or WRs who can catch. The situation isn't as bleak as some think.hoops23;1147442 wrote:All I've been saying.

Houston, San Fran, and Tennessee games were not competitive...not sure if there was more.lhslep134;1147456 wrote:Even the games they lost by more than 7 most of them we were competitive in, and that's without an offensive line, healthy RB, or WRs who can catch. By the way, I'd like someone to watch this entire thing and tell me they still want Weeden at or before 37.

Just as the scouts said, when he's pressured he panics big time.lhslep134;1147464 wrote:By the way, I'd like someone to watch this entire thing and tell me they still want Weeden at or before 37.

And again, he's a system QB. Never under center and an offense designed to be explosive.

From Mel Kiper
Cleveland Browns
Top needs: QB, RB, WR, RT, CB, OLB
Rd 1 (4) RB Trent Richardson, Alabama
Rd 1 (22) T/G Cordy Glenn, Georgia
Rd 2 (37) QB Brandon Weeden, Oklahoma St.
Rd 3 (67) CB Dwight Bentley, Louisiana-Lafayette
Analysis: Richardson is simply a home run at No. 4. You rarely say that about a running back taken so high, but he has such a high floor as a prospect -- the only downside is injury, and that's such a perpetual issue, one that extends far beyond the running back position if you're looking close. Glenn is a versatile player who Cleveland will move to right tackle. He can be dominant as a run-blocker and has great initial pop, and with his presence, Joe Thomas on the left side and Richardson in the backfield, Cleveland has to feel pretty confident in an upgrade for the ground attack. Weeden is capable of pushing Colt McCoy right away (he's a few years older) and could be a steal. So he's older -- if the Browns get 6-8 good years from him, will anybody really care? Bentley is a nice piece at corner, where the team can use some help, even though I consider this a pretty good secondary.

So just because Weeden has a bad game and looks bad, that's why you don't want him? There's not one QB in the draft that has a perfect game tape, even the mighty Andrew Luck has looked occasionally bad. I'm not saying I want Weeden with the 3rd pick, just saying you can't bash him because he had a bad game. I think brock osweiler could be a still late in the draft. He's a little raw, but has good size, a good arm, and if he gets drafted by the right team to sit and learn for a couple years, I think he could be pretty good.

This is why I don't get all this doom and gloom in this thread this whole off season. They were competitive in most of their games, and honestly they should have won at least half or a bit more of those games (bengals 2x, rams, steelers, cards). Now all of a sudden this team is going to be lucky to get 1 win next season?wes_mantooth;1147425 wrote:I will love it if you are right...i have my doubts though. It was his worst game of his college career. The school had a tragety that day and Weeden even admitted that was heavy on their minds. That being said he still made some good throws. He has an NFL arm. If you deny that then you are ignorant.

You guys are missing the point. He snapped from the shotgun 99.9% of the time. He's a system QB. Why didn't you want Timmy Chang or Graham Harrelson?buckeyes_woowee;1147623 wrote:It was his worst game of his college career. Not only that, but as it's been pointed out, and you can check ANY game for this, he sucks BIG TIME under pressure. How do you think he's going to play under center with NFL DL coming at him and only a 3 or 5 step drop?
