The way I see it, with McCoy & Wallace, they have a two year window to see if they have their QB.
[INDENT]
First and foremost they need to get weapons and a strong offensive line around him. Tim Couch lacked those things hence he was labeled a "bust."
If the Browns put game breaking receivers, a strong O-Line and a competent running game around McCoy and THEN he fails, that's when you look elsewhere.
The only way I throw this scenario out the window is if he throws 2 TD's and 15 INT's.

Definitely miscalculated on those posts. Had NO idea that McCoy could possibly be THIS bad. And they were prior to last season before I saw how truly bad McCoy is. Prior to the 2011 season he had shown a couple of glimpses of hope. His 2011 season threw that "hope" out the window.

I agree. Although, I really don't give a shit, there will be a lot of Cleveland fans QQing. I'd be happy with Kalil at 4 and a WR at 22. That would be a good day 1 of the draft.Al Bundy;1133674 wrote:Would be nice to let us get Kalil.

If Kalil falls to 4, the Browns phone lines are likely to get lit up. Both the Rams & Buffalo (#10) need a LT pretty bad....like_that;1133675 wrote:I agree. Heard Ozzie Newsome on Cleveland Browns daily on KNR, and he basically said the Browns are going to struggle until they get a QB.
He made a point of saying that they have Joe, Pittsburgh has Ben, Cincy Andy.......and Cleveland is still a huge question mark as it has been.
He said basically nothing will change in Cleveland as far as winning division games as long as they are unsettled at QB, and that in this division having a solid QB is the most important thing.
It was very blunt and to the point.
God do I wish he could have been running the Browns when they came back, as we wouldn't be in the position we are now. So sad that he stuck with the Ratbirds when he bleeds Orange and Brown.

Ozzie might say that, but defense has generally wont the division the last decade. Look at some of the terrible QB's that Baltimore and Pittsburgh have won with due to injury and other circumstances. Baltimore won the Super Bowl without a top level QB.IggyPride00;1133715 wrote:Heard Ozzie Newsome on Cleveland Browns daily on KNR, and he basically said the Browns are going to struggle until they get a QB.

Good move on Ozzie, trying to pressure Cleveland to make a stupid QB pick. I would do the same thing if I was an opposing division GM.

If Holmgren bolts, don't be surprised if Lerner makes a hard push for Ozzie as President.IggyPride00;1133715 wrote:Heard Ozzie Newsome on Cleveland Browns daily on KNR, and he basically said the Browns are going to struggle until they get a QB.

Holmgren isn't bolting, but if he does, then that would be awesome to have Ozzie.BR1986FB;1133724 wrote:If Holmgren bolts, don't be surprised if Lerner makes a hard push for Ozzie as President.

Why would Holmgren bolt? He makes a huge salary and has no accountability.BR1986FB;1133724 wrote:If Holmgren bolts, don't be surprised if Lerner makes a hard push for Ozzie as President.

If he bolts after the draft it is because he knows this team is going to win 3-4 games this year and doesn't want to be around to deal with the fall-out. He knows he would have to fire Shurmur, and that the spotlight would be pointed then at him and how 3.5 years into a rebuild under him we are still winning 4-5 games.
If he thought we were on the verge, he would be sticking around for the coronation you can best believe.

Who gives a shit what Ozzie Newsome has to say.
Also, for the arguments of Andy Dalton..Look at what he had surrounded around him. An Elite receiver, 2 playmaking recievers, a great tight end, a great offensive line, and an offensive coordinator that knew how to call plays/and know how to work Dalton into hte system. A lot of his throws were just chucking it up to AJ green and letting him go get it.

That's what I'm saying. You put Dalton on the browns, and BR and alll these guys will be hating him cause he will look shitty. It's unfair to compare the two at this moment, because hte offenses are light years different.Tigerfan00;1133806 wrote:Sounds like something the Browns havent had since returning and still arent even close

Dalton was a rookie and so was his "Elite" receiver. Maybe AJ became Elite in part because of Dalton. The off cord was brand new and the other 2 receivers were not starters last year. They completely revamped their offense and a rookie QB came in and took them to the Playoffs. Face it McCoy stinks and is by far the worst QB in the Division and the Browns are going nowhere with him.DeyDurkie5;1133780 wrote:Who gives a shit what Ozzie Newsome has to say.
