After mccoy's first year, you were saying build around him. Stop talking out of your ass.

Call me a "hater" as much as you want. I see what most people see, that's he's NOT a legit franchise QB. Apparently this regime saw the same thing trying to trade up for the rights to both Luck & RG3 so their opinion must be "biased" too.

Plenty of picks to burn. You shouldn't be afraid to burn one if your boy is as good as you think he is.

I don't know wny you have a hard on for mccoy. The dude can not stay healthly, can not move around in pocket with his eyes down field, can't manipulate safeties or a defense, and is 0-10 vs the afc north. But yes, let's stick another year with him, watch him get hurt, and win 3 or 4 games. Thank god you are not our gm.

Haha. Riiggghtt. You blow colt mccoy everday chance you get. Its disgusting. Yes I want to UPGRADE our qb situation, because right now its worst in the league right next to miami. If weeden is 22 23 he is a top 10 pick. The dude can play.

[INDENT] i would rather have colt mccoy over newton and mallet. but as ive said the whole time we need a reciever. my order is green blackmon jones. any one of those i will be happy because its a huge upgrade. but if we could snag a stud FA wide out. i would go best DB or right side of the offensive line.

[INDENT] Once they get the kid into a full year of NFL strength training it should improve. I don't think he'll ever have a rocket but it should be fine for what this team will look to do on offense.

The WCO isn't predicated on the vertical passing game (stretch the field). That's part of the reason our receivers sucked last year. Daboll was trying to fit square pegs into round holes. They were trying to go vertical with guys like Robo & MoMass when clearly that is NOT their game. That's why I'm thinking we could see marked improvement with the current WR's in this system. That being said, they still need playmakers.

ah, if the Browns were headed into the season with only Delhomme or Wallace as options THEN I'd be worried. I'm not 100% sold on McCoy but I think he'll be fine in this system if they play to his strengths (mobility & accuracy).

pg 20.........what a difference 1 year can make

I am all for a good O-line, but what is with the mental block in this city against anyone that is capable of helping us point points on the board at a skill position?
God forbid we have a great offensive line! Oh NO! Let's pretend we are playing Madden, because we have impatient cleveland fans who will cry at the thought of a non sexy pick. Blackmon is good, but not so good where I think he is the clear top pick over the other WR picks. Everyone already knows my stance on RBs, they are dime a dozen. If you have a good O line, you can have a good running game. No sense in burning a first round pick on one.

Now cue failhook chiming in with an ignorant "yeah that sure has worked for the Browns the past 12 years."

BR1986FB;1132858 wrote:Think he has serious motivational issues and could be another Gerard Warren (obviously don't play the same position).

Also take it FWIW but a long time respected poster on the OBR, who doesn't just throw shit out there, is claiming he spoke with an NFL Insider today and the insider has heard that Holmgren will call it "quits" after the draft. Again, just passing it along so take it FWIW.

I agree about Coples. Great comparison with Warren. Highly doubt Holmgren walks. Yeah, Lerner is just going to let Holmgren make decisions that can affect the team for years, and then let him walk. Lol ok.
BR1986FB;1132890 wrote:It's not Heckert I'm afraid of...:(
So you think Holmgren is going to shit on the organization by making a stupid ass pick (tannehill at 4), and then bolt?

You only see that type of shit in movies.
shook_17;1132909 wrote:weeden is growing on me. either 22 or 37. preferably 37, if we can get 7 years out of him thats the most out of a qb since our return. if he was 22 23 he would be a top ten pick. dude can straight game.

You are reading way too many bleacher report articles and smoking a lot of Weed if you think Weeden (no pun intended) is a good 37th pick.
DeyDurkie5;1132960 wrote:NO reason to burn a pick within the top 4 rounds on a QB. Just absolutely no reason.
This. It's crazy how last year people were talking about the H&H plan, and how it was going to take time. All of sudden after this season, everyone is freaking out and they want the Browns to make these knee jerk reaction draft picks/FA signings. I can't believe how many people actually thought the Browns should have given up 3 fucking first round picks for RG3.
BR1986FB;1133039 wrote:By the draft chart, for the Browns to trade #4 to the Cowboys, the Browns should get #14 (1st rounder), #45 (2nd rounder), #81 (3rd rounder) and a 2013 1st rounder. Let's say they leave the 3rd rounder out of it...how bout Miles Austin to replace that pick? Anybody want to trade down?

EDIT: Apparently the Boys' are balking as the Browns have asked for Demarco Murray in the deal.
I would be a huge fan of that trade, even if you didn't have Miles Austin replacing the 3rd pick.
shook_17;1133062 wrote:yes there is, this team doesn't have a legit qb. colt mccoy is 0-10 vs the AFC north.
And you think Weeden would be that QB? Excuse me while I LMAO.
BR1986FB;1133094 wrote:If Weeden isn't 28 years old he's a top 10 pick in this draft. Where was McCoy drafted? Oh yeah, 3rd round and that was ONLY after Holmgren stopped his freefall. Otherwise, he's probably taken in the 4th or 5th.
No he is not. He is hardly impressive. I wonder if people were saying the same thing about Chris Weinke. The dude is already 28, there is not much room for anymore upside.

Weeden is much better than Tannehill. All you need to do is look up the numbers. This Tannehill crap is really and truly annoying.

The way I see it, with McCoy & Wallace, they have a two year window to see if they have their QB.

[INDENT]
First and foremost they need to get weapons and a strong offensive line around him. Tim Couch lacked those things hence he was labeled a "bust."

If the Browns put game breaking receivers, a strong O-Line and a competent running game around McCoy and THEN he fails, that's when you look elsewhere.

The only way I throw this scenario out the window is if he throws 2 TD's and 15 INT's.

BR and shook agree with Modell ???? truly the end of the world as we know it! ....lol!!........just bustin your guys balls........I actually agree with BR's quote about surrounding Colt with some weapons.........BUT the only reason he is our starter is by default, I would much rather have Luck or RG3, but we don't.........more importantly I do not want Tannehill, Weadon, Cousins etc .............and we cant set McCoy up to fail like Mangini did........I am not a Barkley fan either so if we are going for a QB next year I hope someone else steps up....
