I just don't think there's value taking him at 4.lhslep134;1130384 wrote:I would be ecstatic. I still don't understand how there's a knock on Blackmon.
I know the saying about running backs being "a dime a dozen" but I'd rather take Richardson there in that I think he would have a greater immediate impact on the offense. I think there's a bigger gap/diffence in talent between Richardson and the #2 RB in this draft than there is between Blackmon and the #2 WR. For some, Blackmon may not EVEN be the top WR.
I'm starting to sour on the thought of Claiborne at 4, so I'm sure that will be the pick. I'd rather see RT, WR & RB in no particular order.

What makes Blackmon NOT the top WR? Is it the fact he can't be guarded? Because he's got the best film of any WR and it's not close except for Floyd.

Blackmon is Crabbtree part 2. No thanks.

No great size, not great speed, not great hands. Played in spread offense with the worst pass defense in NCAAF. That's the knock.lhslep134;1130399 wrote:What makes Blackmon NOT the top WR? Well the scouts that do this for a living disagree with you. He may be the best in this draft (there is disagreement), but he isn't on the same level as AJ Green of last year. I'd rather have T. Rich at #4 also, even though it's early for a RB. The best outcome is still to trade down with the Rams and get their 2nd and whatever else.lhslep134;1130384 wrote:I would be ecstatic. I think he meant you don't want that many compensatory picks because it means you lost players to free agency.

Sad thing is, he is still probably better than the WR's we have on the roster.

Blackmon is going to be a beast. LOL @ he won't be good because Crabtree was a bust. That's the worst logic I've ever heard.

I think Crabtree is a pretty good receiver.

I agree on Crabtree he's pretty legit. The problem is he has Alex Smith and an uncover able TE on his team.

That is likely the most retarded thing Skip has ever said. The Browns should waste their #4 pick on a 28 year old system QB?BR1986FB;1130335 wrote:http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/44896/chatting-with-qb-prospect-brandon-weeden

Had Brandon Weeden on show today. He outplayed Luck and RG3 last yr. Very
underrated, even though 28. Browns should take him at No. 4.
My god.

I didn't say that, nice fail tubby. I think their college build, abilities and careers are very similar. Not surprised that point went over your head though. You can disgree, and think he's going to be a beast but don't put words in my mouth.SportsAndLady;1130427 wrote:Blackmon is going to be a beast. LOL @ he won't be good because Crabtree was a bust. In 3 seasons in the NFL Crabtree has made 175 receptions for 2,240 yards and 12 td's. That's an average of 58 receptions, 746 yards, and 4 td's a season. That's basically what Greg Little had last season....and he was a 2nd round pick.
Trent Richardson is a better value at #4 because the drop off of talent after him.....Did Blackmon have a great career in college....absolutely. BUT I still think the top 5 receivers are very close in talent level.

Who cares how good Trent is..or how much impact he'd have this year...AP could be their at #4, and I'd pass on him. RB's are worthless in the NFL. YOu can plug in anybody in an offense with a good passing game, and they'll succeed.OQB;1130470 wrote:In 3 seasons in the NFL Crabtree has made 175 receptions for 2,240 yards and 12 td's. Or a good o line. What separates the good RBs with a line vs the elite RBs is what they do in open field after they burst through a hole.SportsAndLady;1130503 wrote:Who cares how good Trent is..or how much impact he'd have this year...AP could be their at #4, and I'd pass on him. AP is great, but look where Minny is at with him now. He might miss part of the season, and even when he is back, how effective will he be? He has been the best RB in the game, yet minnesota has had 2 losing seasons in a row with him now.

But yeah, lets still take Richardson, and pass on adding a legit #1 WR threat to our offense for the first time since Braylon Edwards actually had a good season...because you know, Crabtree wasn't a #1, so Blackmon won't either.

Braylon had one good season, and is twice the athlete Blackmon is. My issue is that Blackmon reminds me of, IE very similar college game to Michael Crabbtree. Put up great stats, etc...can't produce at same level in NFL. He lacks any elite tools to make him worth the #4 overall pick in the draft. You draft a WR that high he needs to be AJ Green/Calvin Johnson IMO. Crabbtree's production hasn't even warranted a first round pick let alone top 10.
Sorry I'll be sure to spell everything out for you in the future so your feelings don't get hurt and you get up in arms over my opinion. I don't want to get called "faggy" again, really hurt my feelz.

Blackmon is goin to be a beast in the NFL. Comparing him to Crabtree and then basically saying he will be like Crabtree is just retarded.
